Finally someone got it right. The Hmoob Xieng with black pants were called Hmoob Dub or black Hmoob in the past. The elders used to identify them as Hmoob Dub. My parents were Hmoob Xeev and although we hais lus Hmoob dawb, they always let us know that we were Hmoob Dub.

@hlix there were no Hmong group back then in Laos wearing all black skirts. The Hmoob Xeev had three groups, black, white and lees. Those with black pants aka the majority were Hmoob Dub. Old folks used to say Hmoob Dub, but because they speak Hmoob dawb, it was easy to say 'im Hmoob dawb' just like it's easy for Hmoob ntsuab to claim Hmoob Lees, while when writing in English, they never say Lang, but green hmoob even though both groups are not the same.

@hlix there is a group that called themselves wearing tiab dub but it's actually not black but dark blueish indigo and the skirt is not all black; however, they are Hmoob Lees or Hmoob Sib. They don't call themselves Hmoob Dub. The only group in Laos that were called Hmoob Dub were the Hmoob Xeev with pants.

@hlix try calling them Hmoob lees hnav tiab dub as Hmoob Dub, they would tell you they are Hmoob Lees/Sib not Hmoob Dub. I am a Hmoob Dub Hmoob Xeev, we all speak Hmoob Dawb. If you truly want to know, you must know the original Hmong Laos subgroups and not other Hmong groups that came from Vietnam or China after the war and created a shift. I thought I was maybe wrong, but when two Hmong elder strangers/ uncles pointed out a group of Hmoob Xeev girls during new year as Hmoob Dub, I realized I wasn't wrong. My dad has always say, we as Hmoob Dub live near Hmoob dawb and took onto their ways. It was the Hmoob dawb that fled to Southeast Asia first.
