When I watched her breakdown I thought she was sincerely trying to get out of her record contract by destroying her image so they wouldn't want her anymore. I recall her complaining about being constantly hounded by paparazzi and wanted a break from working. I thought she wanted out of the business. What a living hell to be forced in it while being isolated and having all human rights revoked.

Well its like.... NOW if you go onto Instagram and look at hashtags related to her, you most often see some horrible things. Like for example i was scrolling in my discover section and came across a series of photos taken of her after shed shaved her head, crying and holding her son at a table. Theres SO MANY paparazzi photos taken of her with the intent to make her look a certain way. This poor woman was going through so much and people just sought to take advantage of her

Even if she was 18-22 it would still be an awful thing to say. Unless the star is actually showing them off or something, there should be no reason to ask about their bodies like that. At any age. And Britney was right when she said Christina and J-Lo both posed practically nude around the same age but she was the only one getting shit for it. Only because she had the innocent school girl look and she looks so young and innocent so people don't see her as a sexy woman even when she was in her 20's and being more sexual dance/outfits. I can relate to that sort of thing. Even after gaining some weight people still look at me like I'm some innocent little girl. I feel bad for her.

I wish that we, the fans, had the foresight years ago to use our loud support to try to fight back for her when the media started going too far. I think Many of us confused our love of her and wanting her to be ok with egging the media on more and more to continue to pry into her privacy. At the time, I thought I was just trying to find out more about my favorite celebrity hoping she was alright and that translated into more paparazzi bothering her. It’s so incredibly heartbreaking, and I truly hope she can finally get all the good things she deserves on HER terms.

Just pointing out, that even if you don't present as traditionally feminine, you still experience street harassment. I know that from experience and the difference is that the harassment is typically more likely to be overtly aggressive / violent because the men are upset that they can't tell your gender. So shaving your head has its own consequences. You won't be invisible. You get a new type of uncomfortable attention

Her life was never really hers, she wasn't allowed a private moment to be emptional or time to make mistakes outside of the public eye. Her most high profile relationship ended with her being painted as a villain and her ex using their relationship to really get his solo career going. And then, after going through all of the hormonal changes of pregnancy twice in a year, she breaks and ends up fully losing her agency for the next 13 years. #FreeBritney 🌠

It wasn't just paparazzi that were harassing her, if you listen to what she said in a brief comment that she "was tired of them touching" her, meaning strangers grabbing at her whenever they wanted and her being her wasn't allowed to react. If you see the smile on her face when she shaves her head she knows they won't find her attractive after and therefore wouldn't be grabbing at her. The industry is full of this type of harrassment and sexual abuse.

Got to the end of the video. It's a shame Brittany Spears got dragged through the mud over nothing. Keep up the great work :D New subscriber. PS - Could you possibly cover workplace abuse in the game design industry and how corporations try and prevent unionization of workers? Gaming really needs to consider this; because the artists, programmers, writers and level designers do not get their due at the top of their game ( Unlike executives and management who oftentimes don't know a thing about their game studio or publisher). But only if you find it interesting or worth covering. Thank you!

I was twelve when Britney has her "breakdown" and I didn't know much about it at the time, but when I got my first real job at 18 at a movie theater I went a month before shaving my head. It was partially the stress of not wanting to deal with it when working a job with a lot of physical movement around hot equipment but getting a job where you deal with a lot of people means you get exposed to a lot of crap from creeps, and shaving my head was def a form of reclamation and I loved it so much. I grew my hair out eventually, but I loved shaving my head and I'll probably end up doing it again, so I completely understand why Britney did what she did and you're right, she looked really good and she doesn't deserve the shit she got for it.

This is going to be way longer than it ought to be. Sorry for that. First, I absolutely love your work. An informed authority speaking on the intricacies of the law is, as a critical thinker, something I really enjoy. Your analysis of 'things' is refreshing in light of all the bullshit people think is real these days. That so many people can't see past their own opinions of things continues to astound me. But let me get to my point. In the 90's, I was in a punk/pop band called Media Kreep$. I wrote, and we performed, a song called Media Kreeping. It was about how the music industry seemed to value sexual viability over intellectual substance (among other things...). And know this, I wrote that song with Brittany in mind. I will now freely admit that I was quite jealous of her success, and that in contrast attention to her seemingly easily found fame, some of the things some of the bands that I liked (includeing my own) were saying wasn't being paid attention to really got under my skin. My reason for saying this, though, is to say how shitty I feel now about mocking Britney's relevance to that song. She didn't create the pathetic teenage boy-lust for hot women that she just happened to have been a part of. She was obviously not 'self-made', as her career started way before anyone would have thought she was in any real control of her career trajectory. (10 years old when Ed Mcmahon asked her if she thought He was mean??!!!!) ((No, creepy old man, I don't want to fuck you!!!)) Point: I feel like shit for having even being able to blame her for what I was mad about about the music industry. She had nothing to do with it (one or both of her parents obviously saw her as a cash-cow), and obviously had no control over it!. So, while I think the content of the song stands (never made any mention to her specifically), I would just like to apologize for her having been the inspiration for that song, as seeing all the things she has endured since have only gone to prove the point of the song. Just, on my part, don't want her (or you) to think that I meant her any ill will for what has become a miserable situation for her, or that I would have wanted any of that for her. Leave Britney Alone!!!

17:15 I think the reason none of us said anything is the perception that she was making our lot worse. I was 20 in 2007, with a 1 year old. I dyed my hair pink for work, and my favorite thing about it was the difference in how men treated me. When my hair was blonde, they were interested. When it was pink, they weren't (2007 guys, not 2017. Different ideas about hair color back then lol) But 1 time I was grocery shopping with my daughter and a woman put herself and her cart in my way and asked me "what do you think she" points at my 18 month old "thinks about that?" thrusts her chin towards my hair. She continued by implying I must not love my daughter to dye my hair (which was required by my job which helped keep my daughter fed) And then I can remember standing in the check out line and seeing Britney in the tabloids with her son in her lap while driving and knowing that old lady thought of me the same as she thought of Britney. And at the time, I just remember being really angry bc I felt like her "antics" put a negative spotlight on young moms everywhere, ESPECIALLY in Louisiana, where I lived, bc it's not like Louisiana ever really left the 50's anyway. But us moms were out here trying to do our best, while Britney had everything and couldn't even keep it together. But you're right. We didn't talk about post partum. I had it bad with my first 2 kids, and it wasn't until the 2010's that it became ok to talk about it even behind closed doors. I didn't know Britney was going thru PP, hell, I didn't even know *I* was going through PP. But looking back on it, yeah, it's an embarrassment. It wasn't exactly a compassionate time in American History, on any level, but I feel embarrassed now that I didn't see her situation more clearly then.

Paparazzi: *intimidates the fuck out of Brittney and makes her incredibly uncomfortable* Brittney: *does the woman thing of being overly polite while trying to stand up for herself so she doesnt get attacked* Paparazzi:... ... She never said to leave her alone, how was i supposed to know she didnt want us shoving cameras in every inch of her body and invade every second of her life leaving her with no privacy? She should have said something (Not like they would have ever listened to her/ever did when she did speak up)

there was missing parts like Adam Streisand he the only attorney that appeared in the documentary and Britney wanted to work with attorney John Eirdley he did not appear in the documentary but he the attorney that wanted to put Britney's case to federal court what is the difference between estate court and federal court? and how it could help Britney and it can help her now? and how?
@LeejaMiller3 жыл бұрын
I talked a little bit more about Streisand and Eirdley in my first video. Basically it’s in state court because conservatorships are governed by state court. Her case would only go to federal court if she were to claim a larger wrong like a violation of her rights or a violation of federal law. That’s I believe what Eirdley (or maybe it was Streisand) tried to do but the court threw it out saying she wasn’t competent to hire an attorney.

@@LeejaMiller I saw a video of a lawyer saying that John Erdley wanted to transfer Britney's case to federal court because the estate Court sealing documents and according to the lawyer in the video said that John Erdley said that sealing documents it's not necessary and that the estate Court keep information under the rug but the court said that they want to keep it in privacy and of Course Britney can't take attorney I'm not an attorney but I agreeing with John Erdley because no one is honest and I just find this interesting just to say the least that Britneys father wants to keep everything in the Hash Hash 🤫🤫🤫🤫

I shaved my hair into a mohawk after my mother told me I looked like a boy for having chin length hair...and I can't tell you how many times I had to fight the urge as I've gotten older to just shave it all off because my stress level was just out of control and I needed to do something...anything. I regret not being more sympathetic to Britney. She deserved better. i really hope she gets out of this shit conservatorship because I really don't think she needs it. She should have her freedom. FREE BRITNEY!

I like many people did not think much about Britney in the past, but with the years passing and learning details on what she has been putting up with, I now understand that she has been abused by many people. More recently I saw the documentary that explained qui a lot of her issues and this time, let's hope she is released from this human trafficking situation. SO I do agree that her father must lose the conservatorship and that she is freed from her abusers.

@@LeejaMiller no, thank you! I like your style and you're straightforward no BS is fantastic. Please forgive my english I'm sure I should go back and edit my comment but I hope you get what I mean. I'm a Gen X with a Gen Z daughter so you are so right. I spent more time with my friends at the mall than I did at home. I remember Britney saying she shaved her hair off because she wanted people to stop touching her 😔 that really broke my heart 💔 I appreciate what you are saying now and I had no clue back then about the media and how they can twist things around. I can't even imagine how it has been for her and having no one standing up for her before. What about what her sister said about it after the fact. Keep making these videos please on everything lol 🌹 no pressure 😁
