The bike not being mentioned is because at the earlier races the focus was deliberately on the rider and the bike omitted intentionally, it was covered on the Manx TT channel during the week.

The manx organisers way back didn't put the bike on trophy as it was all about the rider not the bike. Basically it didn't matter what they rode.

Hi Lee, I’m pretty sure that the reason the manufacturer wasn’t engraved on some of the winners was because they believed it was all about the rider and not the manufacturer, I’m not sure whether that covers the period you mentioned but certainly that is a possibility
