Leek & Rudyard Railway ( Part 2 Re Opening & Mini Gala 1 May 2017 )

This video follows on from closure of almost 6 months at the Leek and Rudyard Railway for major Re-Construction. With most of the planned work carried out the LRR ran service trains over the weekend before the planned 'Re-opening' Mini Gala on the 1st May 2017.
Weather wise it was fine over the weekend until the day of the official 'Re-Opening Mini Gala' which was held on Bank Holiday Monday and you guessed it, It was raining. Luckily it only lasted a few hours in the morning and once again it turned into another fine day.
Considering the Mini Gala was fairly Low key and there was not a great deal of publicity about the re-opening the trains and the Platform 2 Cafe were busy and Passengers and Volunteers were enjoying the day.
I hope these two videos in some small way shows the dedication of the guys at LRR. Its remarkable what they have achieved in such a short time. What they have already done, along with what they have planned in the near future is nothing short of amazing. I hope I'm there to see it all come to fruition.

The trains looked very well loaded despite the weather. My favourite loco is Waverley. Like what a Thompson Atlantic might have looked like.

With little or no publicity about the Re-opening the trains were rather busy.I agree with you Waverley is a little beauty.

Its purely Tourism running alongside the scenic Rudyard Lake.
