I don't like the concept of Leela using TBs mainly because it defies the self learning a bit

I can't speak for the lc0 devs, but I think the TBs won't be used for training Leela, just for endgames like the other AB engines use them.

Leela, can benefit by the fast evaluation of known, perfect play theoretical positions. Not using lookup concedes a huge advantage timewise in competitive play.
