This is so nice on so many levels. Excellent choice of game. Jerry’s asmr voice. The simple logo. The single bleep in the start and straight to the content. How the highlights are done and the dosing of variations. And lastly the outro music. These videos are works of art. Sooo good.

Larry evan in his famous book stated 4 elements of chess strategy: material, space, pawn structure, and time..this game illustrates the importance of such elements..thus, it is very nice to analyze computer games on these elements. Thanks jerry

Wow that knight on g4 was definitely not dim but brilliant! Something else I took away- Critter resigned? I did not know chess engines could do that. I wonder how they decide when to resign.
@mandotherapper2586 Жыл бұрын
they dont resign they just stop responding from what I understand. I think Stockfish wont make a move if its down over -9.0.

When you impute this game into SF16, at what point does the darkside engine realize it is losing? Loved the pawn storm dynamics on this one!

I notice a lot of moves I'd overlook out of fear of sacrificing material and lack of understanding how to evaluate strength of position vs material in play.
@seansklenar3509 Жыл бұрын
what you describe is indeed a hallmark of AI chess. Because it learns the game without being programmed with fundamentals, like don't sacrifice material for a "nebulous reason", and because it can calculate well (perhaps less well than non AI engines, but still incredibly well). Where I believe it really shines is long term strategic ideas because what it lacks in raw calculating power, it seems to have made up in line prioritization; it spends its calculating ability and time wisely by way of understanding which positions to invest it in, and seeming to have shortcuts to identify early that a line is no good without calculating it entirely. It's like a machine human hybrid. I could be wrong about anything i've said, but this is what I've noticed
@tzodearf2596 Жыл бұрын
@@seansklenar3509 Those are interesting observations. One I'd add is the obvious fact that it doesn't get demoralized by losing. even to itself.

Leela indeed calculated that a man named Jerry would become her biggest fan, and kindly finished off Critter (rip) in enough time that there was a high probability of Jerry's subsequent video 5 years later being 13:37. Outstanding long term strategic play by Leela

Hey Jerry I thought 21st move as Nh4g6 threatens a fork by chopping bishop and queen&king fork, so if HxN6 then, there is an issue of Quuen lift to H column and check mate

I love the bishop before knight move! It made the king-side-pawn-army really strong.♟️ So much space advantage throughout the whole game. Also the new highlight effects are really cool, Jerry! ✨✊
