Featured in this analysis is the chess game between Garry Kasparov and John Nunn from the 1982 Chess Olympiad. The opening is a Benoni Defense, Pawn Storm variation. In the opening, Kasparov’s f-pawn seemed to have an eye on supporting an e5 break, but this soon changed in the middlegame. Kasparov’s f-pawn stormed ahead, not only inducing weaknesses on Black’s kingside but also opening a file and diagonal for his pieces. In the final position, we observe the dominant posts of Kasparov’s knights in Nunn’s house, with the white queen having watched the 21-move game all the while from home base.
I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
