Yeah the lip is only on the XL one on an 8, if you run a 9 you won’t have it. If you are running 8 inch tyres always then the nine XL version is the one to go for. Bless Poppy, looks like her old man

Awesome to see MBS coming back with some decent products again. Loved my Tommy K Pro back in the day. I have been looking into getting a set of Jump Drives and I'm wondering if you could make an adapter or something for these?

Lee, thanks for your time and video. Are you getting more tire contact with the Pro 2 XL than the Pro 2 standard. That’s big reason for me getting the XL, if not I might just go with the P2S. You made a comment that if your only riding 8 inch, XL is the way to go!! Is that only because of the offset lip? White

Yeah you get slightly more tyre contact with the XL. I think if you are after the lightest ones the Pro 2 but if you want rims that can fit 9 inch rims etc then the XL are the ones to go for

Didn't expect that MBS will step up the game like this. I especially love Pro 2 XL. I was quite disappointed when I got Rockstar Pro hubs, since they are hard to assemble without wobble (mine have plastic middle part which deforms, I believe they upgraded it to aluminium with newer models, so maybe newer revisions are better).

Yeah I must admit to being in love with the XL ones myself, they are really nice! We had a look at the original Rockstar Pro but were quite disappointed with the quality, these are a different league

Man these are seriously nice as an upgrade to the previous wheels, I had kept some of my old ones with the shit slingers on planning on just using them to cut costs on my mtb build but it’s annoyingly tempting to upgrade now. 😂 Especially considering I want to try 9” for 4wd alongside swapping back and forward with 8” 2wd…

It looks like the valve placement is more offset on the XLs. Is that going to put stress on the valve?

Yeah I think it is a little, as the rim is so dished. I don’t expect any issues on it tbh and nothing coming out of Australia where these are already available

Phatty tires (200x75) 8" would fit better on the XL's hubs yes? Also are your spacers better quality than the standard mbs rockstar pro 2 hubs? I'm assuming these aluminum hubs fit bearings tighter than the mbs rockstar pro 2 hubs? Definitely nabbing a set of those tires of yours! the combo looks rad!

Seems like the contact patch would be slightly wider going from rs2 nylon hubs (34mm) to rs2 pro alum (39mm) for the front 2 wheels vs 44mm correlating lip/contact patch for XL's when using 8" 200x50 tires on all but please clarify this if anyone knows... Also Anyone know how much the offsets are for the RS2 pro alum vs rs2 pro alum xl’s? I hear the XL’s are 3.5mm offset wider stance on each side? I'm thinking on. putting the regular rs2 pro alums on front and the XL's on rear.
