Pretty sure 5:52 the charger released because the witch ran by. If she runs into a player after being startled (without attacking them, because she's on her way to attack whoever startled her), it causes a stumble/stun, and for someone who's charged or otherwise pinned, that works just like a boomer pop and frees them from the pinning infected. This fits with the fact that the charger could charge the survivor again immediately. OP may have figured this out later, of course. Just tossing it out there in case it helps inform anyone :P
