I'm not as good in speedrunning but in the Cola section, I throw the bile straight up in the air before opening the door, that air time is enough to give infected some time to spawn, and by the time it drops, I'm already halfway into the market, giving me more time to leave with the bile taking effect. I think it's more efficient so I'd like to share that with someone competent in speedrunning (something I'm not)

I'm very new to speedrunning this game, so I don't claim to know more than you, but as someone who's primarily speedrun Chapters 1 and 2, I get biles on the second level of chapter 1. It's isn't super common, but there's a few places where throwables spawn that you can get one at and on top of that, once in a blue moon, the commons in the hazmat suits will drop one. PS. Thank you so much, this tutorial has been invaluable for learning to speedrun this game.

I love speedrunners. But you know what speedrunners I hate? Random smucks that join a game with total strangers who don't know he/she is speedrunning, rush ahead alone, get grabbed and leave the game. Sometimes they argue how that's their way of playing the game and blame you for being slow. I like to scavage for loot and fully geared up in zombie games. What's wrong with that, I fail to understand.

Rushing is fun. Its fast and changes the challenges you face. Like if you run past a tank, your team has to deal with it, but you also have to do a lot of stuff alone. It is it's own challenge. However, I do see how it's annoying, as you basically lose a player.

No need to be so defensive about a toxic behaviour. If they want to speed run, do it with their friends or bots, not strangers who just want a 4 man team playing the game how it's intended. That is like going to a butcher and complain they don't sell any books.

@@theotv5522 Honestly, it generally just depends what mode you're playing on, and what difficulty. In general, Left 4 Dead as a whole heavily rewards you playing more quickly, especially on Campaign as it gives the AI Director far less time to set up specials/hordes in your path in a meaningful way that might hinder you, as many of the specials will still either be respawning, or have a slot taken up from spawning as they try to catch up with you, like a boomer for example. Of course, sticking together as a team is optimal no matter what you decide to do, but by and large speed is the name of the game in L4D when it comes to doing well. Whether that's fun for you or not is something else entirely, but both ways of playing, exploring and looting as much as possible, as well as generally rushing through the map, are completely valid ways to play, especially if you are going into PUG/Groups of strangers, have to keep in mind there is all sorts of players out there, and both tend to pretty heavily play matchmaking I imagine. Of course, people doing it solo at the detriment of their team are just that, a detriment to the team more often than not, and being an ass hat in general is never appreciated, but looping this back around to before, team work is always optimal and will prevail more often than not regardless of whether you try to play optimally and rush through the crit path's on levels, or simply taking a more relaxed/explorative approach to things. All that to say really, speeding is optimal and a valid way of playing, but not at the detriment of your team ultimately.
