Interestingly, engine vibration doesn’t have any specific limitations associated with it.

ATC keeps vectoring them to dump fuel over land, and the ANA crew keeps asking to stay over the lake. It seems like ATC can’t remember that they are dumping fuel. Perhaps if they declared an emergency they would have more continuity in how they are handled.

6,000' seems awful low for fuel dumping. Poor fish 🐟

it would dissipate so no issue, fuel dumping above 4000 feet would not pose a threat to our environment

Maddening communication/understanding problems. I know it's considered in bad taste to criticize Asian and Russian flight crews for poor English skills but it seems so often their fluency is restricted to standard ATC communication language and when a non-standard situation arises, comprehension collapses. For example, when Chicago approach asks the Captain "how long do you think you're going to have to hold?" the PIC thinks he was asked where he wanted to hold and muttered "brook", the name of the holding waypoint. That's simply unacceptable and unsafe coordination between ATC and a flight. I don't know what the answer is. A fluency test would never be acceptable to the APA so I guess flight controllers will just have to go on guessing what was intended by the flight crews and remain unsure if pilots have understood what they're trying to instruct them to do.

I hear you and I know you don't mean it in a putdown way, but rather in a safety way. I did just want to say that I've studied another language and learned to read it and write it, but trying to understand the actual native speakers talking is a whole nother story. I'm not saying anyone should have sympathy parties for these people, but I am saying I admire how much they've accomplished with the English language to get as far as they have.

There are loads of English teachers in Japan, Korea and China.

Would help if the controller recognised they are not speaking to a native speaker and spoke slower. I’m from the UK (English is my first language) and I sometimes struggle to understand what the US controllers are saying when they speak at lightening speed with no gaps between words, the European ATC are a lot better with their communications when it comes to speaking in a clear way.

The ATC could have been clearer , speaking slowly but the pilots have unacceptable english.

@@rafaelmarchi6225 the pilots English was not good but the controllers English could most defiantly have been clearer.....the Dutch ATC English is easier to understand than the yanks because they speak slower and don’t string words together.
