In my own personal opinion, LE was the most creative and talented of the group and also the most animated. Not taking anything away from the other members of the group. She ventured out to do her own thing because she was her own woman; nothing wrong with that. Even though she was amongst snakes, she didn't let that stop her from trying to move forward. She had a bright light that shined upon her. She was and still is a "Phenomenal Woman!" That is why she was "stopped" with everything she tried to do.

"The Block Party," video, that she produced showed her love and dedication to the youth, she had so much fun doing that video, it clearly shows it when watching it! That single should've been a top 10 Billboard hit if you ask me, but the industry intentionally, made you sleep on it, because she left them and found self love, healing, and awareness, but the industry isn't about that, and so... That documentary can be a bit dark. but it also showed how she healed and freed herself from the industries grip.

Yes, she was way ahead of her time, creatively. Her Eyenetics website was like a treasure hunt. If I remember correctly, her avatar was a cartoon pixie version of herself as the Supernova. She had various planets that were links to different pages on her website. Each page was completely different from the others. One page had all of her music; another had her recipes because she was known to be an excellent cook. She also shared tips about the health benefits of sea moss. Each planet on that site was so awesome and so ahead of its time. I’ve never seen anything close to it since. Lisa also had a page where she talked to the fans, and she vented a lot about how the record execs distributed Supernova all over Europe but wouldn’t release it here in the United States. Lisa was very open to her fans, and it really sucks how someone as BRILLIANTLY smart and talented as she was, had her life tragically cut short the way it had. If she was alive today, she’d be a BOSS owner of several multi billion dollar businesses, and she’d give a lot of these guys today, a run for their money 💵 💴 💰

Yes, that's what The Challenge was for--to immediately get rid of the three albums they all had left to do under TLC's label. She got it from PAC doing a double album and clapping out one in 7 days to get out of Deathrow. She wanted them to leave too, but they wanted to stay under Arista. Which was a bad idea, since Arista was lowballing basically all of its talent around this time.

I remember her uncle did an interview around the time the TLC biopic came out. He said that Lisa was over TLC and really was over the music industry period when she passed away. She agreed to do the 3D album then after that was finished she was gonna be done for a long while at least. She was gonna fall back and focus on getting blaques career back on track, helping develop the other group she signed Egypt, and in the process of that focus on all the things she wanted to do outside of music as well. He said it was a possibility that she might've given being a solo artist another shot but as far as TLC she wasn't with it anymore. She still had love for T-Boz but according to him she wasn't on good terms with chili when she passed. Some say that's why it's hard for chili to talk about Lisa even to this day because they never got to make amends over whatever their issues were.

All of that's right, from what I remember years ago. Though like you said, people's attitudes change over time. Since the other two weren't 100% with her, that could wear you down after several years. 3D should've been their final mandatory album, and it would've been much better with her on it. As for Chili, it's gotta suck since Lisa gave her that name in the first place @@jackjill8129

All 3 had a different thing to bring to the table and that’s what I loved about them. As a child, I just wanted them to put out music, I didn’t know about sales and contracts. I just wanted them to release music back to back.

She was extremely smart and 😢I was and still an one of her biggest fans. RIP to a very beautiful in and out queen. I truly believe some of her life stories should have been put into the movie. It would've explained why she wanted to go solo and why she had an issue with her group members and label.

I have never been a fan of TLC, but listening to this video make appropriate Left-Eye alot. She was extremely ahead of her time and the politics of the music industry prevented her creativity pushing boundaries with the industry. Since I'm into unreleased music from musician, I would love to her some of the things she was working on before her death - untouched, not remixed, and authenticity her ❤.

You did a great break down again. This definitely explain her behavior because most of it was out of frustration. Not that you're so crazy like everyone kept saying. You really filled in the blanks that related to all of her ambitions frustrations and her creativity. She was way too creative and being with TLC stifled her. I completely understand why she was so angry with their project and so upset by her musical abilities being shoved.

Thank you for this. Thanks to social media years later, I was able to connect with other Left Eye fans (Ultimate TLC and TLC Army) and learn so much more about her life and solo aspirations. She was a wise woman who was very insightful and talented. I was fortunate to have met some of her family members at the LeftEye Fest they hosted in 2012 in Decatur, GA. They are so down to earth and tight-knit. Looking at this documentary was sad because Lisa deserved so much more with her music career. I commend many artists who are independent from these whack labels who only see people as cash cows. It still amazes me of how much she knew about healthy eating, fasting, etc. Very prophetic and a head of her time. Like Pac, Aaliyah, Selena, and others who've passed, I often think of what her life would be today. I pray she's at peace.

I loved and still love her solo album, SuperNova. I still have it after all these years. I made the mistake of saving it on my Apple Music library, though, so “Block Party” got altered with lyrics by Lil Mama😠 and “A New Star is Born” just disappeared.

SHE WAS EOOONS AHEAD OF TIME! 😭 She legit would've had an enormous impact on the entertainment industry ass a whole. She probably would've done so much of what Nicki Minaj couldn't do (no offense to Nicki she's the queen) All those artists she was putting on, having her family and friends all up in her business like that. Man she was so selfless, generous and loyal. 😭😍❤️ What a bloody freaking L the world took on April 25 2002. 🥲💔 We Love you Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. 💕😍 Those of us who know your truth will keep your legacy alive! Fly high sister. 🙌🏾❤️🕊

Just imagine if "Left Eye" was still alive in 2023! OMG! I believe she would've been a larger mogul on such a higher level! She was already and great business woman who was ahead of her time! The way the internet is now just imagine "Left Eye" being on all of these social network platforms! TLC wouldn't have been so big without "Left Eye" She was the master mind behind a lot of the success. This was a great video!

Lisa was just like Lauren Hill, a lyrical genius ahead of her time, the entertainment powers that be... Couldn't let us as people, (of any race or sex, be that enlightened, that soon) Lisa and Lauren, were so ahead of their time (lyrically and spiritually thinking) That there lyrics, we're saving people's lives, and way of living. The entertainment powers-that-be could not have that!! They had to go just like Bob Marley and other artist in Hollywood or music or rap or hip-hop dance whatever it is that they do. Those powers that be refused to let us be enlightened they will either silence their artists or chill there artist just for us not to be enlighten, so damn sad!!

They remind me of indigo children. Third eye thinkers. A more powerful state of mind than any money, or power ingrained mind could ever have. They have an amazing ability to influence the masses' minds into being re taught. Organically. These types of people can be threatening to the "powers that be." Mm mm mm.
