As a PIANOTE member this material is already familiar to me, but I still watch everything that Lisa posts anyhow. She is an amazingly talented and enthusiastic instructor.

I just love how Lisa teaches. I have been following her on Pianote for years now. Although I follow other piano teachers, Lisa is my favorite by far. She just has a way of simplifying things and still making everything fun and musical.

Ahh the octave. Can't get enough of it when I'm watching your lessons on Pianote. So much so that when you say 'use any fingers you're comfortable with' I just always go with an octave coz it just fills the whole sound.

Thanks Lisa, just what I needed, I’m going to complete the play along course you mentioned to familiarise myself with these left hand accompaniments. I’ve got a some ideas where I can use them, this video has opened up so many creative possibilities 😊

The left- hand part of a piano song or piece is called the accompaniment, and it is the part that plays behind the melody of a song to make it sound good.

Sounds like the opening bars of the Beatles song, Let It Be. Love its soft, lush romanticism. I tried playing it on a piano in my local shopping center (mall) but the security jobsworth told me to bugger off. In the ensuing fracas, I lost one of my all-weathers flip flops (left one) and my prized photograph of my dog Boo who went belly up last year. I loved that dog! Thank you. PS You have a refulgent smile and a sassy, cheeky laugh. Your students must adore you! I must write a little ditty in adoration of your potent pulchritude. Roses are red Violets are blue Here is my song Inspired by you! PPS That's the chorus and I'm working on the melody.

Can you guys do a series on this channel of how to get your foot in the door/preparing to be a professional keyboardist. Essentially like a day in the life I.e. how they practice, what they play specifically (their role) on stage. I really aspire to be like a touring musician/keyboardist

Do you need to use finger 1,3 and 5 for the cords? My fourth finger has the issue of pressing the key by accident. Is 1,2 5 okay to use as i find this better?

professional pianists here. Pro tip to get better technique? Just play classical music, even if you dont "like" it. Bach and Chopin will teach you how to play the piano, and theres no better teachers around.
