Dear Kerson! What a great video. I’m a new, but enthusiastic, violin student, who loves new ideas and challenges. Your video is gold, for me. Hi Kerson thanks for sharing. Never in history do we have such as now, the chance for the virtuousos such as yourself to share with the masses. Truly a privilege. On to my question. In a 2 note sequence such as what you were doing in 3:25, with the 2nd and 3rd finger, why do you need to lift the 2nd finger? Why not just keep the 2nd finger down and articulate the 2 note sequence by lifting and placing the 3rd finger? Won't that be more efficient?

Beyond basic exercises, I always feel the need to practice on the basis of a musical will, so it's desirable to work to combine several elements at once.

My teacher has been adamant about using only half an inch of bow, playing deep in the string, having a strong sound that causes the string to ring.. I’ve been having a hard time. She specifically wants the bow near the balance point only. My natural placement of the bow is similar to how you play at the beginning. How come she wants this? Is it preference? I’m so lost especially cause all the videos I’ve seen play the etude toward the upper third
