I have LVH and I take propranolol to regulate my heartbeat. I can say also that I have had a 24 hour heart monitor and ultrasound done. I didn't have to be admitted or anything. I do know that people can have rewarding and fulfilling lives with LVH.

@@jodyjae I did but not near as much anymore since being on meds. Took a stress test and my results came back very good. I was scared my heart would act up without meds but nope, my heart actually performed as it should if not a bit better than some.

@@jodyjae I do. I have a mild case of it and it is determined to be hereditary for me. I still have heart palpitations and my heart is just a bit bigger.

At 7:00 you measure the s wave in V1 but that looked like an r wave to me. Is that not the R wave? The R wave in V1 should normally be a negative deflection right? I am confused can you please clarify. Thank you

"R wave progression" would say V1 should be mostly negative, but that negative deflection would still be an S wave. If there is an R wave in V1, it would be a small positive deflection. It's hard to see if there is one on this example, but an R wave would be the first positive deflection.

to the extent i understood the lecture by cornell criteria its not a case of LVH but by sokolow lyon it is LVH...what final diagnosis should we take....please clarify my doubts and if i got the ecg wrong correct me please..thanks in advance.

you can always use the modified Cornell criteria, where you only check the R wave at aVL. If the R wave at aVL is greater than 12mm, which ofcourse applies to this case, then the patient has LVH. So Dx is LVH

Yes same my r wave is higher in v6 but less than 20mm in v5 and i check all other 9 criteria no one is matching and echo is totally normal

Thanks thanks a lot i am 20 years old and just confused and scared why my s and v is 37 mm no one told me that it age restricted but all said u don't have because of age makes me confuse you cleared my doubt no other criteria is matching but just this one is confusing wow man you are god

Great content.. just one clarification I couldn't find in the video: I assume you use 20mm/mV for those criteria, some say standard is 10mm/mV. Second question: are the majority of your videos with 25mm/s 20mm/mV? That's why ask for clarification. Thank you in advance. Regards.

Try to relax, and stay calm. Controlling blood pressure is a big factor. Try to keep yourself calm, walk everyday for a good 45 min, get, or stay fit. I today myself had my aprn reveal a finding of lvh on a recent echocardiogram.

hello I had a echocardiogram at a and e doctors said my heart is enlarged, but I was still discharged from the hospital . I believe I have left ventricular hypertrophic is it harmful our dangerous ????

My first ECG showing that I have LVH.... but it's been 4 month now I have done 12 ECGs and all of these show normal ecg... should I stop taking meds.. which my doc started on 1st ECG... Please help out... thanks
