My brother-in-law came home from Vietnam in '67. The first time he came over after getting back home, he pulled up in one of these. His was white with the black top. I was 13. He gave a ride and I'll never forget that car.

I had a 1968 SS Camaro 396 and a 1969 RS Camaro 350 Both in near perfect and original condition . I was young and should never have sold them. My 68 had no power options and no A/C ... it was set up for drag racing by the original owner . The car was automatic TH-400 . The 69 had all power options. I never liked low rise seats in an old Camaro.

In 1973 these cars were going for 250$ with 30 or 40 K on the Odometer. The fuel crisis panic was a boom to Ford everyone was now driving a Pinto. I fell in love with the 68 Cougar and it was a terrible car, but it was only 250$ a year later I found a 73 corvette a year old for $2,500 and the four speed was a thrill I had to pry my fingers off the steering wheel every time i got home .When I dumped the clutch it would spin the tires through to third gear adding a holley double pumper would get you in the twelves at the dragstrip!

Never ever have I seen a RS/SS 350 car that didnt have a tach/console, or that didn't come with a 4spd... and this one came with custom int... nice ride though ... Also what happened to Chevy now tagging the Camaro a SS/RS,,,, not the way they came back in the day... You bought up to get the extras.... then in the end, it was again the RS 1st, then the SS came after the fact and the 350 ci car was a 12 bolt, with console due to the RS package. Not sure why a enthusiast would not order console or 4sp

Yes and yes…My original rs/ss had no options except for the 8-Track stereo on the console (where the gauges would have gone). Also, if you bought your car in California, it had a smog pump…my car was assembled at the GM plant in Van Nuys, CA. I don’t know about the other GM plants outside of California, but I would guess they may be required to add the pump to these cars if you wanted them to be registered. So, that’s one way to tell if it an original California car. I hope this helps? FYI, the Van Nuys plant was torn down in the nineties for retail development. I believe it was developed by the Sellick family. One of the siblings was named Tom. Remember Magnum PI? Yes, that Tom Sellick! Thanks for your video. 😊
