We were stationed in Germany from 72 to 81 and then my dad retired there and became an army civilian and I did too. I moved stateside in 96. I grew going to German flea markets as a teen in the 70s. I loved it. I collected so many things. It was so much fun.

My Dad got stationed in Turkey in 72, right after I was born. We lived there for 2 years. I seriously want to visit Turkey so bad as an adult. My cousins are from Germany. My Uncle was Military. He was married to a German woman. One of my German cousins now live in the United States. She is really cool.

Jesse working so close to your new horse with his tools fixing he clock sure made me nervous. I love Jesse's laid back personality. He seems like he just goes with the flow and doesn't get bothered by anything. It would be fun to live with such a person.

TIP: PACKING WITH GLASS in frames for shipping - I put wide tape on the glass in a crisscross pattern over the whole sheet. I also make sure that the corners of the piece of art have extra packing (with bubble wrap and carboard corners). I have shipped from South Africa to Scotland and to the USA - no breakages. Even if the glass breaks, the artwork cannot be damaged as the glass remains in one piece, although fractured. Hope this helps next time :) ♥

We took school field trips to Neuschwannstein castle, Trier, Heidelberg, France, and England. So much fun. My mother collected hand blown ornaments for all of us growing up. I did the same for my daughter. My mom gave us ours when we moved out and I gave my daughter hers when she moved out.

I think I know what the small brown lidded pot (creating your set of two vases until you have a collection of 3+ (lol), may be. It is likely made of Olive wood from Jerusalem or elsewhere close in the Holy Land. My mother has one just like it, only a bit larger. It was a cherished gift brought back from someone very special to her. She keeps it next to her chair with a few needles, spools of thread, pins, and scissors for quick sewing mends. It is a lovely piece!

Hi Laura and Jesse, My friends and I love, love, love your videos. We have even made a drinking game out of it. Every time you say Potosi, we take a drink. Lol. We also try to guess how many times you'll say it. But all kidding aside, we have learned so much about vintage from you. It has become one of our favorite things to do. I just wanted to thank you for all of the fun and education. If you ever come to Arizona, we would love to show you some of our favorite places. Thanks again, Mary

Great video, Laura! I remembered your first Friday sale and had dibs on everything today, but had to resist purchasing. Everything was so special, and when I checked several hours later all had sold with only a few exceptions. How wonderful for you and Jesse. So glad his clock made it with only minor damage, and that he could repair it so easily.. I'm glad you're home safe and sound. Thanks for taking us along. Cat

When I shipped my mother's household goods to the states I packed every piece of furniture full since it went by crate not weight. When I went to Germany I packed a smaller suitcase in a bigger on and only had my purse. Coming home I had one checked suitcase and one carry on an my purse. My granddaughter did the same so we had room to bring things back to the states.

The Bitossi horse 😢 so beautiful. I loved everything in your haul. You have such a refine taste, I admire you a lot. I saw the story you put on instagram. This is so unfair, I have learnt sooo much watching your videos and I loved that without sometimes knowing the maker you pick up articles because you see beauty in them and they end up being actual artist and super expensive. I thrift for the same reason, the love for the artisans that created beautiful pieces and the treasure hunting feeling. Please never let them get to your head, your video is my way of closing my work week and relaxing so thank you
