Great video. Lowered the weight today on my leg press and back squat and focused on feeling the weight in my feet. Huge difference!

It would be cool to workout with him for a whole week, he’s packed with so much knowledge, it’s just the little tweaks that can really make an exercise feel different or to really feel it targeting that certain muscle, you can move weight all you want and feel nothing but having your body positioned a certain way etc can make a huge difference in lifting, I love lifting heavy weights but if your technique is good then “light weight” (everyone’s definition of light weight is different) can feel like it’s heavy or make you grind for those last two or three reps, just my two cents but great video by the way I enjoyed every bit and will be incorporating everything in this video in my leg workout

This is exactly kzbin.infoUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS what I needed to get some exercise while I'm stuck at my desk all day. It's just the right size. Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.

Another great wycked lesson. your like a GPS you can guide us there but it's up to us to get there. Your leg lesson today was epic. Keep your weight off of your upper body. It does wonders. Like you always have said, do what works for you and kill it. Thanks Mike! Always a pleasure listening to you speak.

Thank you so much, I’m 21 with super skinny legs, I have bad problems with my hip mobility and knees. I squat but I can’t even sit on my heels properly. This understanding really taught me to slow down & get the mechanics.

This man is very thought provoking. Really thought things out in reference to bodybuilding. Only thing that puts me off, is like most ppl who spend their life bodybuilding.. particularly on machines. Their body cannot seem to do anything applicable with force outside the gyn. Tend to be beat up, injured and immobile. Not sure if anyone else noticed this?
@DJ_Grampzz2 жыл бұрын
Super grateful. I’ve been working out my stupid legs for years with no growth. Did exactly what you said and I’m actually feeling it! Need to work on the leg extension feeling but everything else I’m finally feeling. Super light weight but I don’t care because I simply want growth of the leg muscle :) very happy, thank you man!

You really know how to articulate. I know these things by experience but if you told me to explain it I couldn't do it to save my life. When I started using leg machines I noticed that my core and back was more pumped than my legs. Eventually I figured out by doing.

Would love to hear what you think about good mobility. Example, I’m trying to get more mobility in my ankles so I can put my feet lower on the leg press. But shoulder mobility, hips, what would you do for someone it they lacked mobility in those areas. ?

Mike, do you think we need to just spend months just learning the things you’re talking about, take the weight off, learn to stimulate and hold the weight in the feet. I’ve had 440 for ten on that hammer strength leg press and I feel literally nothing in my legs after or the next day, 5 plates on a pendulum I don’t feel anything apart from crazy lower back tightness in the top of my glute, I’ve trained hard but it doesn’t reflect my quads at all, you’ve nailed it point by point. But where do we start, just forgetting the weight and learning to train? Just learn for months and months until you realise okay, how I’m training my quads. After training JP style, all I feel it in is my soul, nothing in my quads it’s all in my dam soul I feel so done but my legs feel like they haven’t been through hell
@igt21732 жыл бұрын
I would say..time under tension slow reps...but higher rep range like 15 reps..but slow and controlled..

I’m going to experiment a bit. But do I just tip my hip back a little and drive it back in the pad or soften my hips into the pad. I’m so guilty of what you said in the video I want to get better at these pressing moments
@adampetherick62662 жыл бұрын
Lighten the weight first feel your muscle move then add some more weight,get the movement down frist then add the wight

The hardest thing for me to break is you need heavy weight to grow. It's just been jammed down my throat since I started working out a few years back that even when I achieve a great workout with low weight that thought in the back of my mind keeps me from continuing that workout the following weeks. It's so hard to break. Dammit.
@igt21732 жыл бұрын
So what's the rep range
@Madchris88282 жыл бұрын
So basically with hack squats, sit into the weight and then drive up making sure all over your upper body is tight and make sure you feel a good connection with knees. Good to know

I’m glad you were not squatting today. This shows people there are many other ways to hit and grow Your legs squats are not necessary. They are a very technical movements such as the dead lift that if you have the proper technique the movement can be very beneficial, but if you don’t, it can be detrimental to your knees and hips back Etc. most people don’t have the proper technique
