Love the detail of turning up high onto the shoulder. Looks like if you had their sleeve pulled tight enough you could spin straight into the omoplata.

Thank you! been working on getting to lasso, but need to work on sweeps using it. For this tamoe nage, is there a reason why you're going over your right shoulder instead of the left side? it seems like he can post on that right side since you let go of the sleeve grip, but wouldn't have the luxury of doing so on the left since that arm is still tied up in the lasso.

just a blue belt here but....if he starts to rotate his wrist like that to come out of lasso there is a gifted wrapped wrist lock right there , got that from Zoombie BJJ here on you tube and yes ive hit it...😉

Never thought of using a pistol grip with the thumb inside the sleeve. I really like it, but there's a risk of the opponent popping my finger off trying to break the grip. Or is there not?

Any significant danger of getting ankle locked or are you relatively safe if you maintain your grips?

Key to not getting ankle locked is getting the lasso hook deep so your toes are almost on their back. Having a good grip helps too so if they sit back for a foot lock you can use the momentum to sit up. The last defensive movement that you can do if you feel like they are going for your foot is to point your knee down as you rotate the heel of your foot up. The will free your heel from the armpit and make it hard for them to finish the foot lock. Hope this helps -A friendly purple belt
