I'm the only one who thinks that the character of Kai is clearly under exploited? Ok he's a psychopath, but you also have to think about his childhood, we're on a guy who has always been rejected by his family because of his powers, sometimes he was even locked up. It is logical that he went mad by force. And personally, that it is proceeded where not with the massacre of his family, I am persuaded that for the unification of the twins one would have made it upside down also since his sister was preferred. Kai could have had such an extremely interesting story in the TVD series, that's not done. There Julie Plec brings him back to kill him after 1 episode. I find this scriptwriting choice mediocre. Kai is a character with a good past, a strong personality and it would have been nice to exploit his character compared to the Twins !

And then he seems happy until Jo is pregnant he never meant to kill Jo only the twins and then everything went ... and then he dies 🤦🏻‍♀️ and then he comes back just to be in a prison world for like another 10 years comes back I’m happy but then he dies after like one episode?!! Honestly Kai should’ve at least had a redemption arc or found peace or sum shit. Yeah he was crazy but that’s only because he was abused by his family, he wasn’t even allowed to touch ppl so it’s only logical for someone’s emotions to shut off when placed in an environment like that. And then when he got his feelings back after the merge with Luke he really tried doin the right thing by helping Bonnie but she just ended up betraying him which caused him to go insane again. this man Klaus who killed Jenna and Tyler’s mom and who tried to kill Elena and Tyler and oh let’s not forget that time he turned Stefan into a ripper again and forced stefan to work for him, julie let that man be forgiven and find happiness with his family that he also abused mentally and physically for 1,000 fuckin years but couldn’t let dis man Kai live his life. And yeah he killed his family and his pregnant sister and that’s an unjustifiable crime but Stefan killed his dad, klaus killed both his parents and damon killed zacks pregnant wife or gf I can’t remember which one it was but the point is they’ve all done bad shit, the only difference is that no one gave up on them like they did Kai. Klaus has Elijah, Stefan and Damon has each other and Elena but Kai had no one, he was all alone and because of that he snapped. I just don’t think his story ending like this is fair at all
