Override and Strongarm are both examples that make more use of their vehicle mode for their robot mode compared to the "standard" method. Stryka and Clobber take that to an extreme, which can be fun. These are robot aliens that shift to different modes. They don't need to follow human proportions 100% or even some of the time.

Just had an odd thought: the G1 animation model for Elita was made to vaguely resemble the shape of G1 OP with her mini shoulder-stacks; this version with Minerva's shoulder-fenders vaguely resembles the G2 Laser OP who was also remade as part of the Legacy line, along with a few other G2 remakes. She never appeared in it aside from the G1 ep with obnoxious added 3dCG transitions added, but it's good enough for headcanon, no?

Honestly, I think this mould could've worked better for Arcee given that the front wheels end up around the shoulders. My main issue is with the fake head they put on the roof for cartoon accuracy. If they wanted to put Elita's head on the roof of the car mode, then why not just remold Override?

Part of it is probably down to the fact that we weren't even supposed to get the Override toy we ended up getting. Override was originally supposed to be a retool of Hot Rod before they managed to find a way to make a whole new toy using the molds they had budgeted.

I mean I like her, but her alt mode is... weird... I'm still not entirely sold on the "energon weaponry" gimmick. Some of them aren't bad like Bulkhead where his is partly painted or Arcee's (I personally keep mine slung under her forearms like energy blades), but translucent weaponry is just an oddity.

After playing with the Minerva version of the mold for about a week (Elita still being on preorder from Amazon) my conclusion is... it's weird. Objectively, this is a mediorce design that has typical modern articulation or a little below and a backpack that isn't bad but does get in the way at the elbows and shoulders a little, and isn't even super fun to transform like, say, WFCE Sunstreaker... and yet, like Maximum Shellformer Cyberverse Arcee, I absolutely love her. The robot proportions, the cute little altmode, just the total package has found its way to the top tier of my favorite figures, one of the ones that jumps immediately to mind as part of why I love the franchise as a whole.
