Fury’s only issue was it was too easy. I liked blocking. I liked running. I liked equipment. You could argue that it had you grinding too often but given that the Buu saga is a weaker story/arc compared to Namek and Cell sagas, it did the best with what it had to work with.
@GamingintheAM08012 жыл бұрын
@@abrahamdrinkin2534 Yeah, that was my conclusion too. The reason Buu's Fury is the weaker of the two is because it's pulling from weaker source material. The mechanics are there, but the story's pacing doesn't allow it to really stretch its legs. I like the equipment in theory, but there was way too much of it in proportion to the game's length, and oftentimes you acquire it completely at random. Most equipment are enemy drops, which tend to occur just rarely enough to be obsolete by the time you actually manage to get them.

I remember stumbling on the Level 50 door in the forest with Vegeta, thinking that I had to open it to get to Doctor Gero, so I had to grind for a whole day and then, I just got a statue for my effort. I had missed the generator in Vinnie's house. Honestly, as an idea the whole series is really good and consider the devs had only done barbie games and a hamtaro game or something, it's pretty impressive they managed to make some RPGs for the Gameboy. In fact, it was so impressive, that Japan localized the second game and then re-released it with updated portraits, fixed some bugs etc etc. and they used it as a base for DBZ Kakarot. It's pretty wild.

I honestly love the filler in this game, but I loved the filler in the anime. The filler in the game feels like something that would actually happen to them, like in the build up to the Cell games when Gohan meets that girl and is helping with chopping firewood and what not. That's how it feels meeting these random characters and helping them with the things they ask for. I think they did a great job adding it all. Yeah, it's all to pad the length of the game but it works.

This is one of my favourite GBA games and it was right when I was obsessed with DBZ. I don't mind the filler at the start of the game, yeah it's pretty tedious and annoying. But somehow doing it whilst playing as Gohan feels correct, he's absolutely the kind of person who would do those things to help people. I never played the first one which honestly, thank god. Seeing how much this game improved on the original in pretty much every aspect is a blessing to everyone including those like myself who never played the original. I always did find it funny as a kid playing this and having it be called the Legacy of Goku II when you pretty much don't play as Goku. Not that I was complaining, Gohan is my favourite character. I got the same feeling when playing DBZ Kakarot, Gohan is pretty much the MC of the game.

You know what's a cool thing you can do with those power-up capsules? Give them to Hercule. Based on a quest you do with Gohan, Hercule will start at either Lv 1 or 40 once you get all the character trophies. He's really weak either way, but if you give him all the capsules, he'll become almost as strong as Piccolo or the other Saiyans (without their transformations, obviously). You can also max out your favourite character's stats, too. I remember my bro doing it with Gohan.

I'd just like to point out that my friend gave me this as a freebie in middle school as he didn't want the game anymore same with Sonic Mega Collection. One thing I did was I kept his original save file in slot 1 and put mine in slot 3 I never deleted it and never will. Even now that I'm 100+ miles away. _Just in case_ he ever wanted to play it or check his file he could. I've gotten a lot of memories out of that cart and have 100% the game but that's one thing I tend to do is not get rid of saves or games if I can help it. I used to have Buu's Fury from another friend for a few years. Last I remember I played it while in a hospital have no clue if it was before or after that but I ended up losing it somehow. Both are extremely fun titles and I have some fond memories with each. I always enjoy exploring and screwing around so these games scratched that action adventure itch for me as a preteen until my late teens.

I only ever played Buu's Fury on GBA when I was younger, and never beat it because as fun as it was, it was really hard. Surviving the Great Saiyaman content, where you can't use your Super Saiyan form, was more than a little tough for a kid like me. But I revisited it some time back, probably more than a few years ago, and eventually beat it. Grinding with the training items comes in handy throughout that game, I'll tell you that. As does a proper guide so you don't get lost like I recall happening at both stages of my life playing that game. The other two looked a bit rougher and I wasn't sure I really wanted to play them and, to be honest, these videos tell me I probably shouldn't. That being said, it's easy to understand how these are favorites for anyone whose played them. Even the first, for all its flaws, had to have been a cool experience as a kid. I'm just glad I started with the third game, which ironed out a ton of the issues and had cool stuff like fusions.

You have to fight Cell twice, with the janky SS2 thing that slows you down like crazy (even during the Vegeta phase despite Cell explicitly telling Trunks in the story that Vegeta wasn't using it because he wasn't stupid enough to sac so much speed for power), while there's no real opportunity to heal before getting there, and having to refight the entire fight if you fail either phase.

So, I started a second playthrough yesterday, and I found out a trick that can help reduce grinding by a lot! On the level where you hunt for dr. Gero, the one with a 25 portal for Gohan and a 30 portal for Piccolo, there's also a portal for Goku. It doesn't say the level yet, but what's important is the dinosaur behind it gets close enough for you to punch and gives tons of exp because it must be a really powerful gate we're talking here, my guess is 40. The three characters you have available by the time you reach there are somewhere between 22-27 level and with grinding that dinosaur it's easy to get them to 35 fast.
