At least there's a mod that makes the game less grindy (and makes your flight Ki higher and regenerate like it totally should) so that you can just activate story mode and get through the game. Legacy of Not Dying to Wolves makes the game faster and easy to finish in one sitting. Great for when you want nostalgia but not having to spend an hour shooting the same t-rex to be able to take a hit from Raditz. Great, I sound like an advert, now...

Same. Played Legacy 2, couldn't get enough of the game. Took me months to track down a copy of Legacy 1, I remember barely getting to Namek before I got so frustrated with it I just stopped playing. I don't remember 2 back to back games in a game series being of such wildly different levels of quality. Unfortunately never found a copy of Buu's Fury

I used the same thing without the code I just made an enemy who can shoot ki blasts move back and forth, wait until they starting charging, fly and bam in invincible only problem was the annoying flying noise and I couldn't fly

I’m surprised you never talked about the game breaking bug where if you’re in the flying animation and get hit by a ki blast you go back to the regular walking animation but it’s still thinks you’re flying and you become invincible.

Fun fact: I actually was one of those kids who got this game without ever having seen DBZ at all. I could never beat Raditz so I would just walk around the starting areas talking to that dragon and ki blasting squirrels. Good times.

I LOVED this game. i literally grinded for a few hours and like i had so much flying wings and was powerful. it was so much fun, i should get it again. but advanced adventure? maaan, that is a great game in general!

Didn't have a GBA myself, but I remember one day at school they let everyone bring their handheld games cause class was gonna be cut short but we still had to be there. I brought my GB color and some Power Ranger game. Some kid let me swap with his GBA for a bit and he had this game. I think I ended up playing it till it was time to leave, had so much fun with it. Didn't get to play it again until I was an adult and could see it wasn't exactly the best. But it'll always hold a spot in my childhood. I also remember there was a glitch where if you got hit just as you tried to fly, it would give you infinite flight and no one could hit you. Fun to mess around with that haha.

If this tells you anything about the game, the whole reason I even got to play the game is because I found it abandoned in a parking lot at a nature park. Played it while we waited in line and got passes. Also if you get the chance play Buu's Fury, was an amazing title.

In that series they actually also released a GT game that often comes bundled on the same cartridge as Buu’s Fury. My favorite Dragon Ball game of all time is Budokai 3.

The best thing about final bout was the intro, it was straight 🔥 there was also ultimate battle 22 and a bunch of others I had on PC that I can't remember. I also had a bunch of dbgt intros and endings...great times. All of this I had to download slowly on my 256kb adsl connection.

Great video, I played Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu’s Fury as a kid and loved both of them then when I got older I got my hands on the original LOG and wow like you said in this video it really is a shit game. I got to that maze part on Namek and gave up. LOG 2 and Buu’s Fury are ultimately better

I was miserable playing this game as a kid. I was constantly impatient to get on with the story but instead was grinding my way through irksome filler quests. I only knew the plot of DBZ from Budokai 1 at the time, so I couldn't understand why Snake Way was taking forever. I felt so flabbergasted and dispirited and downright trolled to then fall off it and have to find my way back up again. Then there was night time Namek which I found depressing and got stuck on forever just because I didn't understand what a sapling was or where to find all of them and what to do with them. 😫 Yet another one of your videos vindicates my childhood frustrations lol. I always think it was just me who had a hard time with some of these games haha. I wasn't going to give the sequels a chance, but my best friend happened to have them (and he never played the first game either!) I borrowed them and was blown away by what an improvement they were.

I won't deny the game has its problems but once you get the grinding out of the way and level up your character the game actually becomes a breeze and I do enjoy it despite its flaws. Ultimately it's a somewhat rough start to a great trilogy and I love all three of the games. Heck I even still have my copy of the original and part two bundled together in one cartridge, I even have buu's fury as well. Nice video dude.

I loved DB: LoG series, but I seem to recall a home console dragonball game that took some of the concepts from it and being excited by it, when my friends brought it over to play, but they aren't nintendo kids so they didn't appreciate it as much. I can't recall what that game was called but I always remembered DB: LoG and Advanced adventure.

Damn bro so you never played 3? Thats legit the best one, More drastic improvements such as you can now block and energy block. equiptable items and you get stats to raise every level up. Plus you get to use instant transmission when playing as goku which is sick. the fighting in 3 is amazing. I do love 2, dont get me wrong. 3 is just alot better

Buu's Fury did have better skills, upgradable skills, Super Saiyan used its own meter, and there was more to do/more places to explore, and it had a better stat system plus an equipment system.

It's kind of strange to think that in English speaking countries Dragon Ball didn't become a thing until the 2000s, while in Spanish speaking countries not only was it a thing since the late 80s, but we got the original Dragon Ball before Z like it's supposed to be.

Just discovered your channel and I have just subscribed. I remember getting this game and it had to be the first time I got really mad at a game for its cheapness and bad design. I was a child, but a huge DBZ fan by this point and it just felt insulting to watch Goku get murdered by ordinary dogs who happened to be ten times faster and stronger than him. Like it was my fault that a strong character like Goku suffered the stupidest and lamest death and not because it was fair challenge. Also I remember realizing how stupid it was that the boss fights forces you to punch and ki blast a couple times then play hide and seek until your health refills. That’s not at all what happens in DBZ and had me wondering if the game developers even watched the anime.

I hyped for this game before it's release. I remember my parents taking me to get the game and boy, did I love it. I remember being stuck at the "dungeon" like level that had the finger statues pointing where you had to go more or less. Took me about a month before I found a wall that I needed to walk through 😣😣

The first of these games has a in game glitch if you go into flying mode AND get HIT AT the same time not only only will you STAY in Flying mode but you'll have INFINITE HP and can NEVER die in battles.

my favorite part of this game was how you could softlock yourself and not be able to win the final fights of the game if you didn't abuse the high exp dinos in the final section of Earth since Namek had almost no enemies aside from the boss fights which wouldn't get you to max level unless you were only a couple of levels down.

Not sure why I keep encountering your videos through search, but I pretty much agree with you. I did not remember the quests, but I did enjoy it for those quests until it got a little too hard to manage (at my age). I remember Snake Way (which I do not think had many quests) and Namek being the most annoying and difficult to get around. And I remember the combat being difficult. I feel like this game may be the reason why I liked the original style of Ys. It has the same clunkiness to it, although Ys was still a lot smoother, of course. I never played Buu's Fury but I loved Legacy of Goku 2 also and the first game feels like a fun, but obvious cash grab while Legacy of Goku 2 feels like a classic among early portable games. I think I replayed Legacy of Goku 2 around 4 times and no other game I replayed that much except maybe Metroid Fusion.

Honestly....... this game was only frustrating the first times playing it. Once I figured out what I had to do and where to go, and how to actually properly play and defeat enemies I kicked ass at this game. It took me a good while to figure out how to beat the game 100% though. I found out a good cheat and trick on how to defeat the Ginyu Force (I mean Ginyu "Squad") without them even touching you once unless they shoot a speedy ki blast at you and hit you on the tiny island you stand on to shoot them with ki blasts from afar. But you have to get them to follow you the right spot so you can actually be able to hit them.

That's always been a big gripe of mine with rpgs in general. Something very important is happening but the game has you doing silly side quests to level up. Take skyrim for example. Adluin is about to destroy the entire world, but you go off doing side quests, which you kind of have to do if you want to be a high enough level to deal with the main story line with minimal frustration. I feel like rpgs should have break periods in between high stakes moments for players to just level up and explore to their hearts content without breaking the immersion of knowing that there is something more important that they should be doing.

I never finished this game. It may be because I was young, but the stilted controls just softlocked me. I didn't know how to fight, navigate well, or even know where to go. The fact that my two choices were this and Legendary Super Warriors (which was far too technical for my young boy mind) didn't help. At the very least, Buu's Fury was great.

I beat this game as a kid somehow. I had the invincibility bug hit me during the frieza fight so I was able to skip to the SS part of the fight. I do remember the game being really hard. It was almost all ki blasts. Melee just wasn't viable.
