If it's kunark only, does that mean one will not be allowed to acquire spells that only exist outside of Kunark, or will there be exceptions that lets you get them? Always mained iksars racewise, and Kunark is my favourite continent, so would likely join in on this, but at same time, not sure I'd like to miss out on my spells xD

That's correct! The many burdens of the challenge include not being able to get those fancy spells outside of Kunark. FOR IK!
