He once suggested killing an enemy's 6 year old granddaughter. Thank god it never came about but even his own mates were shocked by that, and that made some of them run to the cops. Evil, ruthless man he was. And lived til he was 87....proof that only the good die young

American cinema and Hollywood glamorised Cosa Nostra with the likes of The Godfather. Don Vito is seen as a man of honour, who adores his family, would never harm women or children and refuses to be involved in drugs. He’s a fictions example of a don. Toto Riina is a real example of what a mafia Don is like. Brutal, ruthless and pure evil. This what the mafia is. No glamour. Just evil.

No, rarely do people make shows or movies about these kinds of kingpins, without emphasizing the wicked side. If they ever make any expression of "good deeds" it's cause some people even today still hold it as tradition to see them in good light. But thats not all people, and even then, that's not for all kingpins. That's not the case for Riina.

Toto' Riina was born with hunger, his dad died from opening a world war 2 bomb tryng to impress his kids on how to open it, from then he decided he was tired to live like a peseant, he went into a yard where watermelons would grown knowing it belonged to a Mafioso and started smashing them with his friends, when the yard keeper came about with the shotgun he told his mates to leave, he then was presented to the yard owner who was a boss, the boss said to him "do you know who i am? that you trespassed" he said, yes this is why im here. then asked if he could try his gun.. the man gave him the gun and let hi fire it.. toto asked if he could borrow the gun.. the man told him to get lost. But that same night he went and got some guns anyway and slaughterd a bunch of goats that belonged to someone that he would trade flour with for grain as the dude would stitch him up with the flour, meanwhile the boss watched this.. and took him and his mates under his wing. From then onwards.. toto' growing he took over and became who he became.. Watch " il capo dei capi" a must watch!!!!!

@jfktruthseeker420 Lol you dont know what are you talking about. 'Ndrangheta rules Calabria, Lombardia, Malta, Spain, Slovakia, Belgium, Netherlands, Morocco, Australia, Turkey, Brasil and Canada. Cosa Nostra rules Sicily, Liguria, USA (!), Germany, Venezuela, Nigeria and SouthAfrica. Camorra rules Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Romania, France, Swaizland, UK(!), Cote d'Avoir, Dominican Republic and Perú. Cartels "just" have got Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Panama, colombia and Bolivia. They make a quarter of gain of one of them. Violence is not power. Totò Riina strategy inspired Escobar about the use of violence and terror, and the result is that one of them died in jail the other one was killed. The mafia could be hundreds of time more violent than cartels if it want. Exactly like Escobar, Riina and Cutolo, a real boss controls everything even from jail, and if he has to stay free they will never arrest him, he will remain on the run until he is no longer able to maintain power. Bernardo Provenzano, Chief of Cosa Nostra between '93 and 2006, previously knew of at least 2 capture attempts.
