The main problem with Seher is that she doesnt know how to say no to Yusuf. It’s time for her to act like a parent and to set boundaries. All she does is to give in to all of his demands and whims. Does she realize that she is the adult? And sometime being an adult means taking good decisions that could also upset a kid. Seher is forcing herself into tolerate Ozan , even though he made her uncomfortable the second he walked inside Selim’s restaurant, simply because Yusuf likes him. I agree with you all about Seher being made to appear stupid, and the screen writers need to be more careful! On the other hand, Seher is so determined to make Yaman a more “gentle, trusting” person that she may be ignoring how creepy Ozan is, especially since Ikbal is fawning over him. She certainly felt uncomfortable as she sat reading her book, getting that primeval feeling of being watched in what is supposed to her safe and private space. I found myself thinking I hope she habitually changes in the bathroom, especially since people seem to have an issue with knocking on doors before entering a room (it's gotten a little better, perhaps our voices are heard?) It’s also stupid that they don’t have Yaman say to her “Girl, you’ve led a very sheltered life. In my shady, semi criminal world I’ve seen things, met people you can’t even imagine. So trust me on this one.” But, he also doesn’t want to acknowledge that she is right about his world, so he keeps quiet. I was appalled by her naiveté in leaving Ozan and Yusuf alone, and it’s also disrespectful to the the other household members to allow him to be upstairs, alone, (aside from him being with Yusuf!) I am reading a book called “The Gift of Fear,” written by a man who has many years of experience regarding crime, and who (I hope I’m remembering correctly, too lazy to check the book right now 🤣) works as a consultant regarding criminal activity. The stories are all true, and one thing he pointed out that I found to be so interesting, and when I stop to think about it, sadly so true, is that women will all too often ignore signs of danger and their own perceptions. We are taught to be polite and helpful and think the best of people, (even when warning signs are making us nervous.) He tells of a story where a young woman runs into a stranger on the stairs leading up to her apartment (each upstairs flat being reached by outside stairs.) She is carrying groceries, as she is. He drops his, she tries to help, he takes the opportunity to engage her in conversation, and shortly after follows her into her apartment and rapes her 😭 Later she talks to the writer of the book and tells him she now realizes that she should have listened to her instincts and gone so far as to scream if she needed to. So long story short, women (and sometimes men,) can allow themselves to quell “the gift of fear.” Also if you stop to think about it, Seher lived with her father, probably had very few friends, didn’t go out much, read the papers and stuff on the internet, and never thought any of the horrors could happen to her. ALL THAT BEING SAID - writers, please stop dumbing down these characters! We are not nearly as naive and stupid as you are treating us. On a positive note - OMG - the hand hold and him standing super close, and his soulful gaze, lovely. Her reaction to him, priceless. She feels the chemistry, it scares her, and so she runs away 😂 At this point, I would be happy even if Yaman only holds her face in his hands the way Ali did with Kiraz, and they sit on the grass and hold hands. So racy, channel 7 might get fined 🤣 PS - Anyone here watching Hercai? There were quite a few scenes where things got hot and heavy and now pfffft...really unfortunate!
