Great video, a few corrections. Andrew Jackson is on the $20. Running Antelope was not the only native American on American currency. Martha Washington was on early currency. Every portrait in the deck is featured on some American banknote or bill. Awesome! video keep it up.

Andrew Jackson just a dumb moment. Lol. And I my actual mistake was using currency to mean paper money. I don’t think there were other Native Americans on paper notes - although let me know if I’m off there! I didn’t know at all about Martha on early currency though!
@KingsWildProject4 жыл бұрын
@@TheCardGuyReviews There were a few native Americans on a few notes. There were some on Military Payment Certificates there were also a few reverse side vignettes of native Americans, like "The Baptism of Pocahantas" d.newsweek.com/en/full/450420/04-20-women-currency-03.jpg?w=1600&h=1200&q=88&f=2a6252618f974db37ed2ec2107cd2eac i.pinimg.com/originals/0e/7f/80/0e7f80c73d1179e77fa30e85ff2fa026.jpg

Thanks for the extra info! The reference I saw mentioned Running Antelope as the only, although seems that was limiting to just nationwide US bills.

Really appreciate the attention to detail both in the deck itself and your video. Very informative! I love my deck, by the way, and I feel fortunate to have been ready and available last Saturday as they holdout so fast!

That's it, interestingly this is the best way I find to enjoy these cards. Watching you review it with all the attention to details and knowledge gives me more joy and satisfaction than actually playing with these cards. I have this deck but never have enough attention span to appreciate all amazing art and details put to it. You make me fall in love with it all over again and appreciate it as much as it deserves. These are pieces of art and they deserve to be studied, reviewed and appreciated in as much detail as you put into them. I've been watching too many KZbins who open a deck, say "some custom court cards, kinda cool", do a couple of fans, a spring and put them away on the pile. All the best!

Wow, what an amazing deck and outstanding review as always! I did manage to squeeze an order in, so I can't wait to get mine. The attention to detail is insane with this deck as with many of his decks. Great job on the courts review! Man, does this deck pop with that foil! Glad the technology has come around to produce this work of art.

This is, I think, the greatest thematic deck ever created so far. The attention to detail is simply mind blowing. ı was lucky enough to cope myself one and I sometimes just take it out and look at all the different art and references.

J A W D R O P P I N G ! ! I also heard the price of foil went up as there is now a shortage of it in the world after this deck had a 2000 deck run. LOL. Loved everything about it. Loved the specialty nods to his children. So is your second job as a history teacher on KZbin. I feel like I should be paying an on-line fee just to watch your videos with the history lessons I get.

The Card Guy but I’m so hyped for these. I still have the Reserve Note and Silver Certificate (still sealed) from Robinson. They’re just gorgeously detailed. Inspires me to sit, bring back my artistic side and create an original deck of my own someday.

Thank you for the amazing review! This deck is mind blowing and you really do it justice. Since your reviews are typically flawless, I have to take the opportunity to add one more small correction to add to what KWP pointed out. The inner flap picture of Washington is based on the painting by Emanuel Leutze, but you show the one by George Caleb Bingham on the screen. Sorry, I just can't help myself ;) Once again, great job with the review! Hopefully I can grab a deck from the next batch.

I just got mine today and I really feel like you did not emphasize the most important aspect of this deck: its utterly unusable. It's the thickest deck ever made, from what I can tell. Before this, the thickest deck was the Cosmic Lanes glow in the dark deck (10 cards was a whopping 3.35mm!) but this deck blew it out of the water measuring 3.59mm! The closed deck will not even fit into a typical acrylic protector jacket! You said your deck had to be flexed... mine had to be *chiseled* apart it was so stuck together. There's a reason you didn't riffle shuffle this deck - it requires extraordinary strength to do so! If anyone is familiar with the Royal Mischief transformation deck, the cards are similar, unfortunately. Yes, visually this deck is an obvious 10 of 10, but for handling or even ability to use the deck AT ALL, its a 1 of 10. I just think the thickness of the cards ruins the deck because it makes it utterly unusable, and the only deck that's gorgeous enough to get a pass on being unusable is the Vegas Diffractor deck (and I doubt its too thick to use, like this deck is - I'll tell you in a week when I get my Diffractors.) Honestly, if I knew exactly what I was getting, I either would not have bought this deck, or would have only gotten 1. This deck just has a fatal flaw that ruins the deck for me. If you're not going to make a deck functional, put your art on something else.
@TheCardGuyReviews4 жыл бұрын
I don’t think anyone could look at the deck and think it was for anyone BUT collectors. I honestly can’t imagine using this for magic regardless of handling. The beauty of playing card collecting is the fact that people can enjoy decks on so many different levels - as art appreciation, for Cardistry, for magic... this one is - to your point - strongly for the collector above all else!
@RationallySkeptical4 жыл бұрын
@@TheCardGuyReviews I get all that and agree, but the fact is that even among strictly collector's decks, you could play a game of Klondike with the deck comfortably with 97% of them - they're functional decks. Forget magic or cardistry...im just talking about a deck being usable, and I don't think that's too much of an ask even for collector's decks.
