I love how genuine Elle is. Instead of just saying “thanks” and turning around, she was honest and said “I’m really glad I met you.” I love how she doesn’t change her amazing and charismatic personality throughout the movie even with all the pressure to fit in. She’s one of my all time favorite characters.

If they did Elle would get back with Warner. But Elle knew that he never supported her interests and only wanted her for status. He even broke up with her because she wouldn’t be a good look for him. But Emmet loves that Elle is smart, creative, and that she is not afraid to embrace her femininity. He even gets her a pink engagement ring. He is always on her side because he knows that she has great potential.

Elle realized that Warner wasn't worth it in the end. She even told him off that if she's going to have a successful career as a lawyer, she needs a more supportive husband and not a bonehead. This is why Elle chose to give her relationship with Emmett a chance.

I love that Emmett actually gave her advice that proved to helpful later on. There's a scene where Elle manages to outsmart Warner in Callahan's class because she spoke up and shared her opinion, just like Emmett said :)

What I loved most about Emmet when they first met was that he didn’t just ignore Elle. He clearly saw that she was upset and cared enough to ask her if she was okay. He listened to what she had to say and helped her out. He never doubted or judged her despite everything and you can also tell that Elle was genuinely happy to meet him. They truly were made for each other.

interesting detail given he is basicly the only character that does not reacts prejudiced against her . . . he does not really see her before they interact. His first impression of her is simply hearing there is someone distressed and going into comforting mode before she turns around and he actualy sees her, so he was not preexposed to what gives other people assumptions of her, she could have been anyone, just with how this was set up he emcounters her as a person before he could fall into that trap

One thing after rewatching the 🎥 I noticed that makes it work so well. It’s probably a thing everybody thought when it came out. But if her character wasn’t as nice as she is, it could’ve been a disaster. Idk if maybe when Reese got the role the script got retooled or not. But one thing about her that makes her immediately become a character to root for is while she does have rich parents, she is in a sorority (not that it’s a bad thing but obviously some aren’t a fan of sororities nor fraternities) but she’s nice to pretty much everyone. And to those who are nice to her, she helps them as the 🎥 moves along.

So interesting to see how different the film and the musical developed the storyline of Elle and Emmet's relationship. More featured laid back and down to earth character. In the musical when you first meet him, he's very shy but he slowly notices some unique stuff in Elle, builds his confidence, he helps Elle really get SERIOUS, and eventually the romance blooms.

She is shocked by this when Emmett reveals the whole truth about Callahan did in trying to seduce Elle that lead her to quit. Brooke is angered by this and wants revenge against him. Vivian immediately feels guilty over her accusations of Elle using her looks to seduce him to be a part of the legal team. That she has proven that she had deserved to be at Harvard and be a lawyer.

Mostly due to the actors monotone boring voice deliveries, but also because of the way he had his hair styled and some other visual things. Just… uninteresting aura compared to the musical. I even feel the musical version of him was a more realistic portrayal of someone who grew up like he did, and worked his ass off to prove himself, as well as a general law student/TA too.
