There was a deleted scene that explained Vivian knew a lot more about Warner than Elle did. When they were dating back in high school, he was known to be a bad student who never paid attention in his studies and always partied. Vivian broke up with Warner right away because she needed a serious guy, not a party animal. He only got serious when his parents threatened to cut him off financially. Vivian also knew why Warner got waitlisted to Harvard. He was flunking three of his classes at CULA, failed a transfer's test and had no good recommendations from his professors. Warner only got into Harvard because his father had to ask for a favor, but even then, it didn't save him. This surprised Elle because she got in to Harvard with her own merits in passing her classes with a 4.0, passed a transfer's test, made a convincing essay, and had good references from her professors. To learn that Warner was a failing nobody without his family's influence lowered him further in her eyes. Elle realized she should be with someone like Emmett because he not only accepted her as she is, but is hardworking, mature and supportive of her.

It was. Then again nether Warner and Elle knew how to love or what it was(probably the latter). However, Elle sure learned quickly when she met Emmett, who gave her a chance and accepted her for who she is. He was basically there for her when she needed him and it was Emmett who unlocked her potential as a lawyer. On the other hand, Warner blew off love like it was nothing to him. He thought if he could marry Vivian, an old sweetheart and daughter from one of the most prominent families in the East Coast, he could solidify his chances of having a productive political career. Look where that got him, Vivian ditched Warner when she saw him for who he was, became close friends with Elle

I like the musical ending better, bc in this it makes warner seem like a bad guy. When all he did was dump his girlfriend because he felt like she was holding him back from being the best he could be. In the musical, it's Callahan who has a bad ending. Warner quits and becomes a model which he enjoys. He doesn't just leave law school a sad and lonely kid
@ladyfire447 жыл бұрын
Warner wasn't a bad guy in the film either. He only got a bad ending because of how he treated Elle during their time at Harvard as if he barely recognized her. I doubted he gave up either and continued on with his life. It's implied at the end of the film that Callahan got an even worse ending when the chancellor discovered his actions in hitting on Elle and fired him.

He was an asshole to women, as well as wholly unethical in how he handled the case so he's definitely a bad guy here.
@biocapsule73115 жыл бұрын
Technically Warner didn't get a 'bad' ending either... he just didn't have any offers to law firm, but his aspiration (or at least his family's) is for him to go into politics. He will make a fine GOP representative... since a lot of US politician holds law degree but from the way they conduct themselves, you can't really tell. He is still quite on path to being a politician.

Oh please Warner was an opportunist. He led her on for so long then dumped her when it was no more convenient, then treated her like shit in Harvard and at the end when she was making it big and doing well he wanted her back because now that would benefit him. Grade 1 A hole.
@pajass20024 жыл бұрын
You people take it too seriously...warner wasn't the main character here...and he was an a*hole indeed who not only dumped elle but disregarded her completely...remember when he told her to do something more valuable with her time ?? I'm glad how he ended and was just a chapter in Elle's life

During the filming of the last few scenes Reece Witherspoon was very ill. You can see her skin is very pale. Her hair looked like a cheap wig in those scenes too. She said that she was vomiting often. She did the best that she could to finish the movie, but the makeup person didn't fix her skin tone and it is clearly off. It was a great movie.

The hair actually was a wig in this. The other parts of the movie had her natural hair I think. But the second movie was all wigs

I liked that Elles parents were also happy and clapping for her. I don’t see that in many movies and omg her dad with the glass in his hand 😂😂

This was again such a great movie. Like, this part was again also one of my favorite scenes. Way to go for Reese Witherspoon, her dreams, and being opitimistic!

This is kind of long but it needs to be said from me so I’m sorry lol ❤️ I did absolutely terrible to fooling around my first two and a half years of high school and I had been raised in California but born in Boston but I don’t remember it but I was raised in California and my hs years were hard I struggled with depression and bullying and my junior year I barely scraped by because I had moved back to Boston because of my family During my few months of my Junior year and I had to pass those classes or I wouldn’t move on to being a Senior and then graduating because they actually hold you back instead of California where you just don’t get the diploma and don’t graduate. Now I’m a senior and I just found out today I passed all three exams needed to graduate, I was scared I hadn’t passed when I had taken them a few months ago but not only that I’m close to honor roll!! I’m so proud and I want to say whoever you are it’s never to late to work hard and achieve your goals and dreams just try and work hard!! It’s worth it trust me!! I’ll come back to this comment at the end of my senior year when I graduate!! Mark my words!!! ❤️

What CAN I say after that short,sweet and absolutely accurate speech,but You GO girl. You've got all the self confidence, faith in people AND yourselff that you're going to need to get ahead in your chosen career. I know that your mum and dad are bursting with pride in you,as is your fiamcee EMMET, but tho we have no blood connection of ANY sort, I couldn't be more proud of you than if you were my granddaughter, and as someone who'd already more or less 75 years of age, I COULD be your grand mother,In fact I'm definitely the right age for it. Be well, happy and prosper. And you go ahead,and enjoy these next weeks, as you and Emmet move towards a successful and happy marriage and a stellar career.

This is my favorite 'movie ending'😍. The song just goes so perfect with all the ending🥰. And all what happened with the characters, even tho they made a sequel 😂. Plus I'm a sucker for graduations, especially when there is music 🤩
