Excellent video, I do enjoy your work and your reviews. Could the brace on the nose wheel been shortened to allow for a little more travel of the strut? I also wondered what your thoughts were on the brass hinges. I think I would have tried to find something a little realistic than the hinges that came with the kit, they looked like they could have come from Home Depot. I'm looking forward to the flight video. Keep up the great work!

Yea, not the best solution. But you could paint the hinges or put you own mounted on the inside, maybe.

Hi Fitz, thanks for posting the review. I have been looking at this model to add to my hangar as a electric float conversion. I can't seem to find a uploaded manual yet on the web pages for the Caravan. Question: 1)Could you advise from your manual the manufacturers suggested electric motor, esc and battery setup. 2) The suggested access hatches for the batteries. (I would think cargo doors but was wondering how easy it is to change batteries) Thanks again for your review, looking forward to the maiden. Randy...Canada

Maybe this is relatively common but I feel like this particular build required you to do a lot of modifications / fixing because things were either misaligned or had incorrect sizing (bolts, cover, wiring etc). Are these issues you enjoy encountering & solving? Eternally frustrating? Somewhere in the middle?

@@HobbyView You're at a very advanced level. My suggestion would be to create some videos that introduce people to the hobby in a easy to understand way. This will bring in younger viewers and that's the main demographic on youtube. That is, if you have an interest. Your knowledge needs to be shared!

From what I recall, no weight was needed to balance it (it has a rather long nose).

Did you use the supplied fuel tank? I have just finished and test flown mine in the same scheme. I felt the tank was too big and fitted a 360mL one instead. DLE35RA with 17x8x3 prop.

Yes i did. If i recall, tank is pretty close to the CG.

I have the 35RA in mine with a 17x8x3 prop. Plenty of go power. Very steady in the air. Only thing to look out for is it gets mushy at low speed. Long wing, but small ailerons. Otherwise a very predictable model.

Another typical Seagull model. Parts don’t fit correctly, misshapen, or wrong. If it were free it would be worth building one, but not worth the aggravation for the $$$. You’d think after all these years they could make a plane that fits out of the box. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I didn’t see anything that needed fiddling to the point where I would take it off a buy list. At the end of the day we’re modelers and this is a hobby. Your not going to get assembly line precision. While I have not built a seagull model I have assembled others built in the Far East and first page of the model has a disclaimer stating that while all parts are cut on the same machine every piece of wood is unique and every model is an individual so there may be some variation in fitment. Wing struts or chrome plating on a wire would hardly make me jump up and down in a temper tantrum. I’ve spent more time fiddling with fit up and alignment in kits out of the box
