The tuning is: C - G - C - F - A# - D# (from lowest to highest string). His guitar is tuned the slightest bit higher on all strings but this is as close that I could get wothout a specific tuner. Literally the best Ghibli guitar cover i've ever heard. That power! thank you so much for this song. Princess Mononoke is the best!

Hey Ben, thanks for this video eventhough it was 7 years ago that you posted it. I just had bought my first flute at the time and Ashitaka was one of the first things I tried to cover as a hobby. I have very fond memories of playing alongside your beautiful rendition, and I still come back to it from time to time as a measure of progress. I also went to see your more recent stuff and saw that the viewcount was criminally low but, oh well, OST covers dominate the youtubes I guess. On a side note, I also remember your previous username and I used to love it! I hope the change is a sign that things have been for the better. Now I have to go and try to play alongside your newer stuff as well! Cheers!

Awesome rendition! You have complete control over the dynamics of the piece, key to conveying the original feeling of the song. Mighty hard to do on a single instrument with all the harmonics. Is this your own arrangement, or an officially published one? If it is yours, you should seek to publish it, under permission, of course. This is much too sweet to remain in the shadows. Good job!

Thanks so much, and yes this is my own arrangement. As for publishing, I haven't written this piece out in any way, and it's been awhile so I'd need to re-transcribe it. I'd love to do that though, even if it means a long project. So, I believe someday I'll have a transcription for those who are interested!
