One Summer's Day from - Spirited Away.
Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し) is a 2001 film by the Japanese anime studio Studio Ghibli, written and directed by famed animator Hayao Miyazaki.
The film received many awards, including the second Oscar ever awarded for Best Animated Feature, the first anime film to win an Academy Award, and the only winner of that award to be traditionally animated or win among five nominees (in every other year there were three nominees).
The film also won the Golden Bear at the 2002 Berlin International Film Festival.
Spirited Away overtook Titanic to become the highest-grossing film in Japanese history.

Z .z Haven't you seen monuments or historical paintings? They have been remembered throughout all these years and has been treasured greatly. What about Sailor Moon? It's an old anime, but everyone knows it. And, just Sailor Moon, Spirited Away will never be forgotten. I believe there is a line in the movie "it's always inside you even if you don't remember it". I don't think I will ever forget a movie as great as this.
@BanditLeader
@BanditLeader 7 жыл бұрын
Frappuccino Sailor Moon hasnt been forgotten because 1. it is still ongoing. 2. it gets advertised, and 3. people talk about it. Spirited Away is not talked about. If you ask anyone about it, they most likely don't know what you're talking about.

Rabbitgirl57 it´s from a mythological story called Orpheus and Eurydike. Orpheus is allowed to take Eurydike out of Hades if he goes the whole way back while Eurydike goes behind him. He is not allowed to look back the whole time. A couple of metres before the end he just turns around and Eurydike is getting pulled into the Hades again. Sad story...

This is one of those movies that is so beautiful and accurate, not to mention timeless, that it makes sense how listening to this song would bring people to tears. I have only seen this movie once, and being 100% honest, the movie was so brilliant, that i had the songs stuck in my head, the scenes playing through my thoughts, and the chills running through me whenever i thought of certain parts of the movie... for nearly a MONTH! I haven't seen all of his movies yet, but from the ones i have watched, i must agree that Spirited Away is among the best! I recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it yet! Like. Seriously. Watch it... now...

I'm from America but lived in Japan from when I was 6 to 10. A couple of weeks before I moved back, my school watched Spirited Away as to say goodbye (My school was a private one founded by the company my dad worked at. We were from different countries but none of us were Japanese). I loved that movie, even though it didn't finish. I still haven't seen the whole thing because for some reason, and I don't know why, I'm scared. I changed when I moved back. I made much more friends, developed a sense of humor, and seemed happy. I stopped talking about Japan and the emotions tied into it because whenever I did, people would walk away because I would get too nostalgic and seem antisocial. When I thought about it alone, I would always start to cry. So I started forgetting. Now with every passing day a bit more falls out of my head. I'm starting to forget what it was. I was starting to forget who I was. I'm trying to run away from my own memories so I can be the happy kid I usually am. Now it's been a few years. I'm going to be a teenager in 5 months and I am the person I wanted to be for so long, a normal one. Overtime I've learned a burn can heal, but it leaves a scar that seems to never go away. No matter how much you try it will stay. It starts to change you. You get annoyed by it and start to cry. One day, you might cover it up successfully and forget its there until you see it again and the memories start to flow in, even if they aren't clear. Even though it's painful, you try to remember how happy you were before you got that burn, and it makes you smile as you remember the person you were, and, even if it's a tiny bit, still are. As the years pass I get more angry that I can't go back for a long time, but all anger is attached to some sort of sadness. Sometimes we need to cry, as it's a part of healing the scar, even though it will never be gone. Sorry for the long comment. I know most people won't even read this comment, but I needed to do this to help me let go and remember. *Edit: Hey guys just an FYI I wrote this comment when I was 12 and my mental health wasn't in a great place but I'm doing a lot better. I'm happy with my life and I'm about to graduate high school. I'm going to relearn Japanese in college so I can go back someday. I still get notifications on this thing and I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for the kind words you've all said over the years. Some stories and responses I get on this thing are so beautiful and touching and I'm so amazed by it all
@seragx99
@seragx99 9 жыл бұрын
You should really watch it again, you'll see it in a different way, specially because it deals with a lot of the things you are going through, all the characters in the film are forgetting who they are, Chihiro for starters isn't even called Chihiro the whole film, also Haku who thanks Chihiro for helping him remember, the Witch, everyone is a different person when the film ends, embrace the future, smile, the past will always be part of you whether you remember or not :)

_When this man passes away one day, who will be the one replacing him? What such profound miracle will be there to replace this unfathomable masterpiece? This is truly the way of life, the circle of life indeed. The unseen mechanics of the human heart, is surely something beautiful. What will be there to fill the void in my beating heart? What will be there for us to witness? What will be there for the individuals in the distant future witness? Certainly this feeling is something undeniably irreplaceable. What do you call it again?_

"Spirited Away" has an amazing soundtrack! I love Joe Hisaishi's music! Seriously, "Frozen" shouldn't have deserved the title "one of the best animated movies", personally, I found the movie good, but not phenomenal. Also, I didn't really like the song "Let it Go" that much. Hayao Miyazaki has an unique and authentic style. You can't compare these two movies, with Frozen almost being an "adaptation".

The sweetness, the joy of summer which has arrived. The bitterness, the sadness of knowing that it will quickly fly away, and through the melancholy of Autumn it will come the lonely, silent winter. But then, the delicate hope of spring, and then we will meet the joyful summer again. I can hear and see all the seasons, all the passing of time itself in this music. That is why I say it is just magical.

There's just so much depth and emotion to this piece. Clearly thought out well cause if you listen carefully you can actually connect different parts of the piece to different parts of the film. Lovely score.

Only thing that ruined it for me, is on the track you can get on iTunes, the ending is the violent loud part, so when I try to fall asleep, its like Im sitting on a beach...then a tsunami hits :p

Spirited Away, Howl's Castle and Laputa got me into Ghibli's animation and these amazing pieces :) Sure you can appreciate the ol' Chopin and what not, but even composers of the now have this glow about them just like previous generations.

While I'm listening to this i feel a sudden stroke of nostalgia from my childhood like your just lying under the tree sheltering from the heat of summer haze and a cool breeze keeps blowing from a open field maybe a meadow and you're starting to feel sleepy just by looking at the blue sky and white clouds.

Now that I think about it my 4th/5th grade teacher was responsible for introducing anime to me at such a young age i remember him showing us princess mononoke. We watched that like 5 times in class it was so awesome. I remember reading the manga for spirited away back when I was in the 5th grade. I didn't know there was a movie for it until my teacher said we were going to watch it, but every damn time we were going to watch it I got sick and had to miss school :( just my luck lol. I'm going to be graduating this year as a teacher and i hope the new generations appreciate these type of movies and the compositions that bring the movie to life ^^.

This song and the movie will never get old to me. I still feel the same emotions listening to it now as I did years ago. It is so simple, so sweet, and so pure. Thank you Joe Hisaishi for performing this wonderful piece and thank you Hayao Miyazaki, for creating a part of my childhood that I could never experience on my own.

I just can't describe what I'm feeling right now with a couple of simple words. I've been watching Spirited Away ever since I was a child, I grew up with this melody echoing at the back of my head. The tears that are moisting my eyes right now are not just cold emotionless waterdrops. I can feel it, deep inside me. I can sense the love I have for this movie. It's not just a kids movie, it's my whole life! I really really can't explain how I feel but I want yah all to know that this song, no, this movie manage to touch my sensitive heart

It elicits sentimental feelings but also shows some lights of hope. The movie is a hidden tragedy though that is why somehow the music sounds so sad...Such a great piano piece that contains enormous emotions. And how incredible 久石譲 is that he rarely uses complex chords in his compositions but he always expresses both his mind and music in the purest way.

By far, my favorite scene in that movie was when Haku gave the dumplings to Chihiro after seeing her parents in pig form. When she started eating them and began to have tears trickling down her face, I couldn't help but legitimately cry with her saying, "**sniff** those must taste delicious."
