Toph's honestly got a good point, though. As much as we might want to see our old Avatar crew throw down, they're all pushing like 80 at this point. Katara's just sticking to healing, Zuko may have tried to help against Zaheer but his performance was pretty "meh" compared to the prime he exhibited in his youth, and even Toph, who'd never admit a weakness out loud, is willing to go "Yeah I might be a bit too old for long periods of this shit". They still posses immense talent and natural ability, but a body can only hold up so much at a certain age. Toph might be able to beat Kuvira at her present state, or maybe not. Either way, it wouldn't be a very pretty fight.
@captainmarvelous76786 жыл бұрын
That would hold more weight if we hadnt seen the old masters throw down at the end of the original series and all those dudes were well over 50 and we hadnt seen Bumi at 105 go toe to toe with the avatar. 80 in the avatar world has not been shown to be the same as 80 in our world. ESPECIALLY for super powerful benders like those guys. I dont even care to see the original crew fight int his series, just refuting your point.

I think age is about the same as in our world, bumi was a very special case, like in our world there are people that pass 100 too, that doesn't mean 80 isn't old, and there's a bigger difference between 60 and 80 than between 50 and 30 for example.

I guess I haven't seen any animes to know how dumb things get but Korra was close. - A self-sustaining Mech made entirely out of platinum and constructed in the spam of a month - Wielding an atomic bomb gun that Michael Bay's the city with every touch that our heroes survive - _The world's largest hot foot" - Bolin_ - A quick engagement and then breaking into the machine with _barely functional rust buckets - Varrick_ constructed in half a month - Getting attacked by Kuvira with the spirit cannon but ultimately saving her from it with the Avatar State (btw could have killed of the brand new Avatar Cycle right there if that didn't work) and the power of empathy *whilst* creating a third spirit portal nowhere near the other two. The moral of the story is that: Napoleon can be forgiven for trying to take over the world, as long as they were an orphan brought up by one of the richest families in the Earth Kingdom and Jesus can relate to her .
@Wolf61196 жыл бұрын
Even the old Earth Queen saw Republic City as rightful Earth Kingdom territory. Heck, even the old, charming, lovable Earth King who had Bosco was pretty pissed off when Aang and Zuko were like "Hey this former Earth Kingdom land is a new country now", so it's definitely a long-standing sore spot between the United Republic and the Earth Empire/Kingdom. As for whether Kuvira plans to stop after she has Republic City back and has reunited the old Kingdom... Who's to say? Hitler promised he would stop retaking lands after he had Austria and the old German Territories back, and look how that turned out.
@TheKat123646 жыл бұрын
But in the comic the earth king did come around and realise that the merge of fire nation and earth kingdom people was new era and agreed to let the land be a separate country. So that agreement holds, Think of it like this. Would you want Russia to invade alaska after how many years asking for it back. No.

Actually Hitler promised he'd stop retaking lands after the Munich Conference that granted him the Sudetenland in what was Czechoslovakia. But literally 5 months later he took the rest of Czechoslovakia. He didn't exactly take Austria either, he kind of did, but they were pretty welcoming to him actually. He did take the Rhineland though which worried France and Britain, but they hesitated to retaliate, and he took Poland not long after, hence the start of WWII I personally don't think Kuvira would have stopped after taking Republic City and reuniting the old Kingdom, I feel like she would have eyed other nation's territories and would have turned into the dictator that Ozai wanted to be.

Eric is correct. The Earth Queen in S3 explicitly stated that "Republic City IS Earth Kingdom territory." It's insinuated that the majority of the current Earth Empire still feels similarly, that Avatar Aang and Firelord Zuko stole their land to create the Unite Republic. Kuvira believes she is in the right to reclaim it by force.

the metal block into armor cheer, that was amazing
@2016brownie6 жыл бұрын
I re-watched this scene to try and figure out why this fight stood out to me as being one of the best in LOK and I think it's great for the same reason ATLA fights were great - they felt realistic and had moments where the characteristics interacted with and utilized their environment and the fighting styles matched the personalities of the fighter. For instance, here we see the twins combine their strength to pull off a dual move and chuck a huge boulder across a field. We see Sue rip the metal off a panel to use as a shield and then turn into armor (a nice throwback to Toph in the season finale of Avatar when she used the metal door as armor on the fire nation blimp). I think what made ATLA fights legendary was not just that they were beautiful (Azula v. Zuko finale) but also how watching HOW a character fought taught us about the characters themselves. I also think the fact that overall most folks were less emotionally invested in the LOK characters has a lot to do with it too.

I think there are three reasons why Kuvira will attack republic city. First is that the other nations are opposing Kuvira and somehow do something against her. Next is that Korra intervened with earth empire agenda when she had a fight with Kuvira. And the last one is that republic city is a place full of spirit vines.
@tomw49556 жыл бұрын
hm I thought it was because it is old earthkingdom territory. But honestly: The spirit vine angle is actually really smart. I watch a video, i cant remember by who and they were saying why Legend of korra sucks. and one point was republic city, and the land its on and how its so wrong and two (the queen and Kurvera) demanded it back because it belongs to the earth kingdom and the video guy went on and on about how their right and how korra is in the wrong for defending it rather then give it back. And the whole time he was talking I kept thinking that would if Russia attacked Alaska demanding it back.

@@sneakysneakyraccoon8538 Basically search why Korra sucks and I sure the video will come up. Nearly everyone repeats the same things.

Zuko fought to protect his daughter. Toph fought to protect her daughter, grandchildren, and Baatar-in-law. I guess, if their family is safe, they don’t fight... but, then again, Jinora was in harm. Then again to the then again, Katara was keeping her alive with her healing.

i think sulin's father might be Satoru, i mean it makes sense, Toph was kinda into him.

While it can't be ruled out, it's not likely. Lin is several years older than Suyin, and if Lin's father was a guy named Kanto, it just doesn't seem likely that, after things with Kanto didn't work out, she would go back to Satoru (that is, if they were even together in the first place, Toph did show an interest in him, but he has only appeared in The Rift and nothing since). I'd probably put more money on Sokka being Suyin's father than Satoru, and I don't even like the Tokka ship.

I know, that's why I said I don't like the Tokka ship. I never said they did date and there's no evidence that said they ever did. All I was saying was that, if we were making bets on who Suyin's father was, I'd put more money on the chance of it being Sokka over Satoru.

Look I get that we can't see the original characters fighting. But was a reunion too much to ask. Bring Katara, Toph and Zuko together. Maybe throw in Iroh too. We never got two original characters interacting onscreen apart from that flashback. The closest we got was Zuko hearing about his uncle.
