This story really brought me to tears. I seen his rock while in Juneau and cried when i heard he was on display in the buster centre which I didn't want to see any way. RIP

Hi I just picked up the book on Romeo. What a gorgeous fellow. I think he was looking for a mate and to start a pack. I would not have brought little dogs along. My great Dane would of loved him but wouldn't let her near a wolf. I'm down here in Ohio. I won't get into the way people are about them or what they have done to the species but being able to enjoy this experience was a gift. I wish it had been me. God bless and thank you for sharing your video and time with Romeo.

yes he is pretty close. We can only see him in winter when the lake is frozen, not sure what he does in summer. from a vblog - "Wolves are territorial. Each pack occupies an area that it will defend ...territories vary greatly and are dependent on the kind and abundance of prey available... neighbouring packs trespass into each others territories, fights often ensue that frequently result in the death of pack members.... lone wolves may find mates, then search for unoccupied areas ..."

this area is called Northern South East Alaska, no kidding. It is the little piece that hangs in front of canada, along the coast. Romeo lives at Mendhenhall Lake.

No, that's just a bug. If you look at it with the Internet Explorer, it appears as spam, but not with Firefox and not with Google Chrome, so it seems to be a browser-specific problem.

mkd, that cam is on the far side of the lake, and only takes a pic every ten minutes or so. the odds are, you won't see him there. but you might take a look in their archive they may have saved a pic of him if they had one. he has been out almost every day on the opposite side of the lake, which is not shown on the camera. however it is getting wet and slushy and the time to watch is about gone, soon the ice will be too thin and getting dangerous.

ha ha NSE Alaska eh? lol.. so is Romeo's habitat pretty close to your place? does he also shift his habitat sometimes? or does he stay only at Mendhenhall Lake?

It was only a matter of time before someone up there killed him. Maybe if people didn't interfere he would still be alive.

are you serious you shot him? so sick why did you do that?

I do believe he thought the Pug was a puppy. Wolves don't pick up live prey and casually lope off with it. They kill it on the spot. THEN transport it if necessary. A beautiful, but very confused wolf. Oh well. No harm done. (Except to the beagle.)

hello. for some reason YT did not tell me you left a comment. Well, so far this year, no sign of Romeo - or his girlfriend. Hopefully this is good news, and they are way out in the woods somewhere enjoying some peace and quiet.
@floydstinkyboy15 жыл бұрын
the sad truth is this one is only alive because he lives in town, where lots of people can see him and hunting is not allowed. the chances of a wolf this friendly to humans staying in alive in the countryside around here are just about nil. thanks for watching!

hey! that guy is skiing backwards! how he do dat?! any recent news on Romeo? stupid people still lettin their dogs play with him? the thought of him playing with dogs makes me smile, but he is a wild predator. ive read that hes grabbed 3, killing 1 of them. i hope the rangers can do something effective about this before he gets killed for the stupid actions of humans. you say in the video he killed a beagle. i read that he grabbed a beagle but let it go and that he killed a pomeranian.

@floydstinkyboy I remember a NatGeo special about wolves in Scandinavia in the nineties. There was a clip about a similar wolf who loved to romp with the village dogs of a wilderness Norwegian hamlet. He eventually got popped from the roadside by someone who wasn't in on the game. For his own good, Romeo should have been pepper-sprayed, rubber-bulleted and chased away. When wolves get habituated to humans it always ends in tears.
@pokinsmot15 жыл бұрын
i hope hes tired of the humans and their yippers, and took off with his girl deep into the woods. would be nice if someone could catch a glimpse of him just to confirm hes alright though. thanks for the video and the reply btw

It looks like with the absence of a sighting is about the time the bottom dweller toothless bugger eaters shot Romeo for fun. Romeo being what he was signed his death warrant because humans have been demonizing wolves forever, i.e., "The Big Bad Wolf". On a sidenote, Romeo was an impressive looking Wolf, bigger than I expected. May he rest in Peace away from humans.

thanks for that pokinsmot. yt insight data says the new viewers were mostly all Lithuanians????? wuttt. Lithuania?? Perhaps that is where the stumbleupon server is located? Either that, or Lithuanians suddenly became fanatic Romeo Lovers! either way i am glad the wolf is getting attention.
