I finally make good on my promise guys. A truly original movelist video for Legend of the Double Dragon. Everything for Billy and Jimmy is in this video with some other stuff too! It took a really long time to make this video. Its a one and only style video, so I had to go all out with the presentation. I hope you all enjoy it. It was a really labor of love!

The combat system in this game is the best I've seen. It's not just fun with flashy moves, it also requires thought to use in game. Risk/reward for using the combos when other enemies are nearby. Managing your chi meter. Using throws or combo finishers to reposition your enemies and yourself. Defensive moves. Pure class.

It's Android compatible. I think you download the Openbor app and it should work. How to do it and configure it... I don't know. But there are dudes in the Discord that are pretty good at this. You might want to go there I'm sure somebody can help you out.

Hey Pat, its always good to hear from you man! Thank you for your supporting words. The last few months have been rough. I have learned a lot from the making of this video. There is still much much more room for improvement and additional ideas for future videos related to UDD whether they are move list videos or other style videos. This is not my final form... not by a long shot. I'm not sure what my final form is going to look like really. As I don't have everything I need yet, and am going to switch to a new and better video editor for future videos. There is still sooooo much to do and sooooo much to learn. It may be a really, rrrrrrreallllly long time before I go Ultra Instinct, but when I do, I will be pushing you and your brother as hard as I can to the stars so that everyone in the world will know this game. There is still some more stuff to put out for this video. I will put it up later this week in Discord as well as Twitter. I also have one more LOTDD video to upload. Awesome video NK, i like the whole ensemble of what you've presented. What treasured me the most was how you took the time to employ two controllers at the same time to execute the Double Team Super with both hands on each. Also, the way you described the Cancel Combos was pretty clever. Especially how you pause each combo in the beginning, giving players a sense of more moves they can do. Great job my guy 👍🏾

Thanks brother! Nice to hear from you! Yeah, it took a whole weekend to setup and do those hand recordings. Had to bring in a small table in front of my desk cut a piece of white poster board down to size, and use two goose necks to hold my phone top-down and one on the side for lighting. THEN perform the combos under pressure of the battery dying and filling up the hard drive space with too many failed attempts. I almost flubbed up Jimmy's DT Super move. You'll see me hesitate moving to punch then back to kick lol! After the recordings were made then I had to re-render them horizontally. Then the most fun part... sync it perfectly to the gameplay recording in the video editor while adding input pics to each execution. I wanted to jump off my roof at that point lol! Sometime this week, I'm gonna make another tweet showing off the movelist pics that took me a month to make in case the mediafire link stops working. I'm also going to post a quick "video debrief" in general sharing my experiences making the video. It won't a solid wall of text. It will be a wall of text with pictures in between it hahaha! Very niche community with only a small following. LOTDD is kinda old now. I don't even think the developer has it up on his website anymore. He just released UDD in February. Think of what you seen here by 10 times greater and for many more characters. Of course those move lists won't come for many years. UDD is a lot tougher than LOTDD. I will be releasing a new video basically in a couple hours of me beating its hardest challenges with every character. I hope to start releasing more content regularly. Stay tuned. I recommend you join the Discord server and ask the developer for a download of LOTDD, if you're still interested in the old version.

@@fameismine2 I'm at work right now so I may be brief but I'll try to help. I use a Windows 10 system. Nvidia video card nothing really too special no important. If it's not a Windows PC, I can't really help you beyond that point. But if it is, just drag the zipped or RAR file to the desktop, pull the folder out add on to the desktop. Open it up and simply open the open the EXE. Do not I repeat do not use your own open b o r if you're using it. This game as well as ultimate run on a very very old version of the engine. Using something else may render it incompatible or change things the developer didn't want. Also keep in mind the save game feature doesn't work in this game. Don't use it or it will crash you to the desktop. But once you open the EXE, it will open in the original SNES resolution. Meaning it will be in a tiny box. Squint and use the keyboard arrows to scroll down to options, then video options, then select full screen from window. I also recommend you changing opengl to sdl. Makes it run a little smoother. I strongly recommend you use Joy2key for controller setup. It's the only way you're going to be able to put a second controller in there without having a bunch of weird problems. I hope this helped. I got to get back to work so I may be a long time before I respond to your next response.

I love this game, I do that being said, towards the end of the game when they throw too many enemies at you, the switch style becomes more of a detriment as it leaves you wide open to get your ass, handed to you, especially against duke, he is by far the cheapest boss in the whole game.

@@michaelgalvez81 Yeah, I was pretty disappointment too. Unfortunately, I've never heard of anyone getting Openbor to work on a PS4. People still have trouble getting it to work on their Androids even with a port of the engine. This game at its core is just a very modest fangame. It was started almost 15 years ago on an open source engine with its very very limited resources. It simply doesn't have the capabilities of other fan games that are more modern, have a bigger teams, and original made engines to run them. Sorry, but this is just PC only.

It's a fan game made on a really old open source 2D game engine. It took the guy more than 10 years to make it. Being that it's Double Dragon and not an original IP, it cannot be bought or sold in any way. Because of all the copyright infringement stuff. So It will always be in this tiny community on the internet. But that's better than being struck down by Nintendo or some other unfriendly rights holder.

The power bar must get refilled doing combo by combo too (when you punch and kick enemies), and talking about control buttons, when you change the fight styles must be changed when you press the triggers, so, would you like to add those feature in this fangame, please?🙏 Btw, I love so much your fan game c:

Hello there and thanks for the compliment! LOTDD is a few years old now and won't be being updated anymore. UDD is where its at now. There are some characters that have moves that refill the power bar, but its not exactly what your saying. As for the triggers, I don't completely understand what you are saying. I think you are talking about button mapping? The style switch trigger buttons can be any button you want, I doesn't have to be shoulder buttons if you don't want them. Oh and finally, I'm not the developer. Mr. Q is. His channel is on my home page along with some other people.

I'm gonna prefer UDD by a country mile. Once it comes out, its going to have more than twice the content of LOTDD. Mr.Q even said that LOTDD is just a prequel compared to UDD. I'm practicing ultra combos but I have a doubt. after performing a circle with the pad, do you have to perform ss1 or ss2? change something? I'm asking because I notice differences in the animations. is it right or wrong?

Make sure you have an assigned button to the style switch one button in the controller configuration menu. If you are not using a controller or keyboard, make sure it's assigned to whatever touchpad button you're using. There are six action buttons, four directional buttons, a start button and a screenshot button. Make sure they all are assigned.

Yes, but there is more to the playable characters as well as the abilities of the enemies. You have alot more moves as Billy and Jimmy as well as an all new juggling mechanic that was not in this game. The enemies have more attacks, more weapons, more defensive techniques and more aggressive AI. This game is kind of a walk in the park compared to Ultimate. There really is a loooot more to go through. I could make an essay about the differences. Ultimate will be full on SNES soundfont with original and restored music made my the dev's brother. There will be multiple final mission routes in story mode. There are more characters obviously. And there are new returning hand drawn enemies by the original master Koji Ogata himself. When it comes to future movelist videos, well, its going to be a long time before I make those as UDD is alot more complex mechanically speaking, and I will be separating each character with their own video. I'm estimating each video will be between 10 to 25 minutes. But this is just an estimate. Please look at more of my videos in my channel, you will see the differences the more you watch! :)

@@TheAnimatedGamer Yeah, I get my butt kicked too when I fall out of practice. Its just as important to learn enemy behavior as it is to know your characters moves. So, those cool combos you trained so hard to learn can be performed AFTER you know you won't get kicked in the back for trying them lol! 😅

@@ramonmatos1622 that attack comes out by pressing block and punch simultaneously. This issue is definitely on your end. Check your controller, devices, and other extra software that you may be using that could interfere with registered commands . I really can't help you beyond that.

Sorry. You can't in LOTDD. You may be able to save your game in UDD, but it may be buggy. This game was built on a very old version of Open Source Openbor. It does not jive very well with a developer's vision of how you move through levels.

They were not really made to allow creative extensions because It was really hard for him to code these and also for it being experimental and his first attempt at making moves like these in Openbor.

Unfortunately, these skills were not retained or added in Ultimate Double Dragon, which is a pity. I don't know if the author will update version 1.6. I think there are still many things that can be added. This game has not been updated for a long time, and the update process of Ultimate Double Dragon is also very slow!!
