The players and analyst speak on it all the time. Compared to the 80s and 90s where u had 4-5 great teams ALL AT ONCE. The east was weak. Look at who was playing out west during that span. U had two dynasties in La and San Antonio that went to all but one of the finals in the entire decade. U had the suns for about 5 years. U had the mavs consistently a threat to win the chip. U had the blazers and kings as title threats for a little bit. Once tmac got to Houston u had them. It was a dog fight every night. And when y got to the finals, how many eastern teams were truly a threat against the best of the west? Only 3 in the whole decade, Miami, Detroit, and Boston. The west blew every other eastern team off the floor in record margins.

The reason Lebron went to miami is because he couldn’t win in the easier Eastern conference with all those expectations.
