Update: 3/11/16 - Holy crap, I can't believe this video has over a million views now. I never really thought any of my videos would ever reach that amount of views, ever, so this is really encouraging. You guys are awesome :)
This is the final battle with the demon lord in his full demonic form and is the pre-final boss of the game. The first phase of the battle involves you knocking him off of his platforms and stabbing him through the chest, which is fairly easy. Afterwards, he'll draw his sword and begin fighting like he usually does, although this time you have to stab his chest to land hits because his skin is indestructible; he also has some new attacks such as performing a dark version of your Skyward Strike that you can reflect back at him (I didn't know this when I fought him, so I didn't get to do it). After a few hits, he'll get pissed off and draw a very large sword; break the sword into pieces and stab his chest. You can take your time with breaking his sword since he holds it up for quite a while when he does.

You know what makes Ghirahim so formidable? That he's the only boss out of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess that can survive the Ending Blow. Diababa, Fyrus, Morpheel, Argorok, Ganondorf and Demise all die instantly when you use this technique against them (in fact, Ganondorf and Demise can ONLY be killed with it). Ghirahim? You have to attack him three times with this attack just to proceed to the next phase!

Skyward Sword gets so much love and so much hate. It is so divisive. Count me in the love category I guess. Koktalos, Ghirahim, and Demise are three of the best boss battles in Zelda history. So fun and legitimately challenging if you don't know what you are doing. Especially in Hero mode I might add. But this fight, the final fight, and the end credits....so epic!! Skyward Sword is one the series' best and it will be loved after Zelda Wii U comes out. It is the Zelda cycle after all ;)

The part where Ghirahim goes down after the fight, I wonder, what's he thinking? He says it's preposterous, even laughable (and he is) that he's never been able to beat Link. Well, in a way, Ghirahim *did* win in the end, because he was able to revive Demise, which allowed Link to defeat him, thus making Demise inflict the curse of him being reborn each and every time the hero and the princess are reborn. Without Ghirahim, the Zelda series would only have one game, because Demise is reborn as Ganondorf or Vaati each and every time the hero and princess are reborn, and it is all because of Ghirahim, who was the one that revived Demise and allowed the curse to happen when Link defeated him.

If you go to the third dragon which is in Lanayru Desert, you can do what is basically a boss rush mode. Once you reach a certain tier (8th or 10th boss, can't remember), the reward will be a shield that never breaks, otherwise known as the Hylian Shield. Hope this helps! :)

It’s an advantage of unvoiced dialogue really, the writers can go to town and if the character (and their lines) are good it’ll sound WAY better in your head than what a voice actor could ever do He’s just an amazing character overall. Storywise, what was the point of this fight, anyway? Link failed to prevent Demise's return. And Ghirahim laughed triumphantly as he became Demise's sword again. Really, Ghirahim really won this round. It wouldn't be much different if Link had just stood by and watched. The only things won really were Link's bragging rights over Ghirahim; Ghirahim's final humiliation. Maybe this duel weakened Demise's sword, giving Link a chance.

Isn't Ghirahim stronger than Ganondorf? I mean, in Oot and TP, Link and Ganondorf both had pieces of the Trirorce. But in that fight, Link had all three and Ghirahim none. Also, in that form, Ghirahim is invulnerable and cannot be hurt except with the Master Sword, which belongs Link. What do YOU think?

Well of course they're stronger. Ghirahim and Demise were the first ones chronologically in the series. One is the Demon God that basically caused the entire Legend of Zelda franchise to exist, the other is his sword. Can you imagine any of the Links from games later in the timeline being able to compete with either of them? Especially when all of them only have one piece of the triforce or none at all?

Ghirahim is the dark master sword. Demise is Dark Link from Zelda 2. When Ghirahim says he is the "weapon" he looks identical to Fi. Also Fi was waiting for her bearer to come while Ghirahim is essentially doing the same only waiting for Demise to come. It's a fantastic plot twist and I'm impressed with how Nintendo didn't over explain it.

Can we also address the fact that it takes THREE FINISHING BLOWS just to get to his second stage? I mean, every other boss from both SS and TP go down with the finishing blow, including the two end bosses(which is the only way you can kill them). Also, this point has already been made by someone, so it’s not my observation, I’m just helping to spread the information.

Totally obsessed with this battle and this boss. Dunno why, but I find him pretty scary. Have never played Skyward Sword so can't tell if I would find him easy or not, but looks pretty awesome!

Hirosuke Namikaze Hint? ..this one of the biggest failures of the entire game! They just tell you everything, all the time.. you dont get one single chance to figure something out for yourself, and this is one of the main reasons I hold this as my least favorte zelda games of all time, cause it never allows me to feel smart, it treats me as if im a dumb 3yo who never played a game in my entire life!

Vector Silver I cant take you seriously, sorry!:) But Ill share some things with you! On a system(Wii) that sold100Million consoles, Zelda SS sold less than 4 Million copies, making it the worst Console Zelda, Ever when it comes to sales + the user critiques rate it 7.9... thats Insanely low for it being a Zelda game... Mario Kart Wii sold 36 Million games & Wii Fit sold 22 Million games!! ..but Zelda Skyward Sword sold 3.9 Million Games... one of the best/Strongest Franchises in the world... and they only sold 3.9 Million Copies! Think about that for a second. And this is on a console that sold over 100 Million Units!! If you want Zelda to stay on the same track, Zelda will not be around for very long! So go ahead, Kill Zelda off with your amazing analysis!!! I however love Zelda so much, I dont want it to die, so I will keep on fighting for its existence! In Skyward Sword Hand Holding is extreme, enemies are so easy its impossible to die, world so linear its impossible to get stuck and puzzles so easy its impossible to not solve them... this should NOT be the Zelda Formula cause skilled players(most of the gamers out there) dont want anything to do with a game that does not challenge them! Yes, I enjoyed the Story in SS... but its a Game... im not here for an interactive experience, Im here to Play the game, with challenges, epic fights and puzzles and not have a side kick spoil every single puzzle etc, by straight out telling me how to solve it..... !!! :) Im here for an Adventure... and Skyward Sword is the first Zelda ever where I never felt any sensation of Adventure at all.. and I have been playing Zelda since Zelda on NES! So dont try to imagine yourself I got no clue about what Im talking about! Again, if Zelda keeps going down this track(SS) ...they will die sooner than later!

I don't see why you can't take me seriously. Sales have nothing to do with the game and its quality. 7.5 was its very LOWEST review. Zelda won't die down because a few little problems in the game. You are being very ignorant. This is pretty much what you are saying. "ZELDA GOT A 7.5 AS A LOW SCORE, THE OVER WORLD IS TOO BLAND AND IT HAS A BIT OF HANDHOLDING OMFG ZELDA IS GUNNA DIE" You are clearly a very pessimistic person. I find skyward sword to be hard because of the motion controls. Not because they are bad, but it requires percision. Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit sold more because that appeals to general audience.

And yes, 3.9 Million sales on a 100 Million System is so horrible its insane!! Its INSANE how bad it is.. when Wi fit sells almost 5 x as many copies.... It doesnt got " a bit of handholding" its ALL hand holding!! NOTHING in SS is up to you to figure out, NOTHING!! You find it hard cause you dont really got the skills, its nice, then its a good game for you!! Thats great! I never use potions or fairies in Zelda anymore, and I was NEVER below 10 hearts after I reached 10 hearts in that game.. I was NEVER in any danger, at all... and its frustrating! Way to easy, so easy ITS INSANE HOW EASY IT IS! I have played Zelda for 25 years, and SS is the first Zelda I didnt enjoy, cause its made for 5year olds or players with the skill set of 5 year olds! Thats ok, if you are one of those people! But I havent heard one single veteran of the series say SS is an amazing Zelda! Not one veteran of the series... of course, new comers and people 8 - 15 enjoy it a lot! No skill is required, perfect match for the teenager of today, where resistance = a bad game.....

You are probably just better at Zelda games. I am acting completely normal. I don't see why you can't take me seriously. I can say the same thing about you considering you are half raging. Eurogamer gave it a 10/10 second of all. It almost sold the same amount as Twilight princess. It had not so good sales because of its timing when the Wii was getting outdated. Again, sales don't mean quality. You are now just pointing fingers. This game had great level design, great music, beautiful graphics, a good story, great motion controls, unique bosses (Ghirihim, however I spell it, and the imprisoned were unique, but you had to fight them multiple times). It had great character development, great and memorable characters, memorable dungeons, memorable places overall, tons to do, and a unique way of getting around. Again, your are looking at the few bad things. The overworld didn't have that much, yes, but there were still things to do. I somewhat agree with you. It was disappointing but, hey, not every game is perfect. Back to the handholding. I hope you know you can ignore it right. A lot of the time I figured stuff out on my own because I ignored the handholding. It is that easy. Even ignoring it, I will admit that the holding was still there. It isn't like they told you how to dungeons. The game wasn't very hard but, I found Twilight Princess and Wind Waker to be easier. I like lots of modern games and old games. If a game is hard, I don't think it is bad. I happen to be a huge fan of earthbound. I see where you are coming from but, a few minor issues doesn't make a game bad.

@Alexia Davidge he does a "skyward strike" of his own, you swing your sword sideways to send it back. It goes faster and faster ack and forth, and if it hits him back he gets stunned for a moment.

I find it cool how ghirahim is a sword like fi, just a darker master sword. It makes me think of what if to evolved her design as the goddess sword grew to a master sword. Ghirahim was the demises master and fi was links.

Doodle I just finished and am half way through it on hero mode, it really is an awesome game. And, I don't see why people hate this game either. It's a 3D Zelda and it's got the backstory of the Master Sword! And, Hylia!

I upvote this. We need a more mature Zelda game. Twilight Princess was a step in the right direction, but we need one that's much more brutal. Maybe toss in a scene of Ganondorf murdering someone?

It's not like that'll make the gameplay better. A little bit of blood would be interesting, but if it was hardcore blood, it would totally destroy the game (Since young kids are who I see playing it the most, making it mature would strike down half of the players). Not that I'm against the idea, but I'm just stating the facts.

What about link stabbing Ganondorf 20 times after shooting him in the heart with a Light arrow. Until he vomits blood and turns into a demon boar where you smash his spinal cord with s massive hammer and as he lies on the ground screaming in godless agony you Stab him in the face 3 times and drive a sword into his throat! With real blood spraying out!!! That was almost m rated was it not? Twilight princess was rated teen and it lacked any red blood!!!

I don't know if someone already mention this before, but those beams that Ghirahim throws at you with his sword, you can actually hit them back to him just like Ganondorf's energy ball in previous games. You will start playing the "pin pong" thing with Ghirahim (you need to swing the right way to throw it back)
