Nice to hear from a dancer who went through racial issues. People should be judged on talent, not color, rac, ec. Nice you created a school for these kids, but also took them to see more culture. Beautiful man.

Karel Shook was an integral part of Mr. Mitchell's development as a dancer and taught at the company. It makes me sad that he does not get more mention in his role at DTH.

Karel Shook was instrumental in my life at DTH. He taught me how to perfect my technique. I miss him .

You just said Arthur Mitchell broke the color barrier. Then, the narrator says that Misty Copeland broke the color barrier. This makes no sense at all. So who was it? Arthur Mitchell, and various other ballerinas were there, living out their ballet careers, way before Misty Copeland decided to promote herself all over the media in terms of her blackness, as if no one had ever seen black ballet dancers before.
