Povetkin continued that strategy the whole fight right along with Klitschko. One of the worst fights I've ever seen if not THE worst.

The trick when a fighter does what Wladimir did is to get him in a bear hug and bend him back. That makes the referee intervene and you can shrug and smile and apologise, which means, "Get him off me." And the next time he leans on you, you do it again. It puts the ref and Wlad on the spot.

I was a very good boxer in a lower weight class, sparred with national champions while remaining an amateur and held my own and no more because that's what sparring is about. But when you're in a fight it's war, and I don't mean wild, guileless bullshit. If I'd been a heavyweight I would have welcomed what Klitschko does. Because I could deadlift substantial weights he would have played right into my hands by leaning on me. I'd explode upward and use my head on his chin, hit him low while swinging him so the ref was unsighted. All sorts of things that would make him very uncomfortable. If he leaned and I got him in the chin with my head I would have loudly complained to the ref about the leaning, which puts the ref on the spot and makes him less likely to deduct a point. He'd have to start boxing or get hurt badly. I have no respect for Wladimir whatsoever.

Wilder is basically a left right combo puncher, he uses his back foot to push forward and hit with the combo. That's it that's all his got. Any decent fighter would see that and counter. If he got rocked with those punches someone like joshua or Parker would put him to sleep. He's got no technical abilities o and a shit defence.

I've got to disagree with you there on both points. Fury's speed is not bad, especially for a man of his size. Rather the problem lies with Wilder. His speed is nothing amazing, he swings wildly leaving himself very open and close to getting knocked out on occasion and his power is also just slightly better than average. I believe the issue lies with his weight, he's just not big enough to compete against the world champions or the up and comers I mentioned earlier. Watch the power of Anthony Joshua to compare what real power looks like, especially of his latest knockout against Dillian Whyte.

+Robbie Richards Fury is very quick actually. As for taking power punches Wladimir is one of the best knockout artists in heavyweight history (top 15 defo) and Fury negated everything that makes him dangerous and as a result barely got hit. He would school Wilder.
