When you are inspired by a story you don’t plagiarize the material or in this case copy scenes from other movies. They literally took the scenes from the movies and put them in Sholay. The scene where gabbar killed thakur family was copy paste from once upon a time in the west. I will say picking mango for Hema by pistol was inspired from dollar trilogy. So you are right in some sense.
