Finally someone who truly understands the real deal and brought it to light. I’ve never understood why everyone has always said: “This Audi x has a Gallardo motor.” Audi developed the platform for the V10 that was put into the Gallardo, after all, Audi acquired Lamborghini in 1998 and basically saved them and elevated them to an extremely high level. So the phrase should be more like this: “This Lamborghini has an Audi engine”, which in my opinion is a wonderful thing. It’s shows how two of the greatest car companies worked together to create a wonderful product. P.S. The C6 RS6 is the craziest one of the all, and it’s still my favorite.

I think the response is in your last comment : buyers. The average Audi V10 has done some autobahn, some city drive and some country drive while the average BMW V10 has done hundreds kilometers of burnouts donuts and all the stuff that revs the shit out of the engine, killing it in the process.

I think you made a mistake Jay on the RS6 part. C6 RS6 BUH engine is 5.0 as Gallardo one and it even got Lamborghini stamps on it. Well actually the Gallardo facelift got the Audi engine, which is also found in the Audi S8 D3 or the S6 B6. These are indeed the same 5.2L V10s. But again - the Audi engine was put into the Gallardo, not the other way around. So if you have a 5.2L Gallardo, you can say that you car has an Audi engine.

@samiurrahmanshah19814 жыл бұрын
Torque capacity has not a lot to do with stroke length, and all to do with cubic capacity. Torque = swept volume x BMEP / 4π. For the same swept volume and cylinder pressure, the decrease in stroke and moment arm of the crank throw is made up for by the increase in area of the piston and hence the force applied on the piston. The net effect is that the torque value, theoretically, would remain the same. Practically though, bigger bores allow bigger valves and ports, allowing better breathing especially at higher RPMs. The combined effect is then, that all things being equal, an oversquare engine will make more torque, at higher RPM Where an undersquare engine excels is in packaging, better S/V (surface area / volume) ratio of the combustion chamber, less heat loss to the cylinder walls, and better swirl in the combustion chamber on intake and compression. For a road car, an undersquare engine is better for efficiency and emissions.

Instead of Lamborghini obtaining a V10 engine from Audi, it manufactures itself and Audi will do the same, it will not obtain such an engine from Lamborghini, but will produce a V10 engine itself, as Koenigsegg thought of producing an engine himself, and it is also a genius idea to do this instead of obtaining an engine from another manufacturer, for example Ford, and that, only the volume of the engine or the injectors And that exactly the same.

I'm trying to imagine how these V10 motors will behave in the years to come. They will probably be quite thirsty and require significant maintenance. In the EU, some of the car registration expense is based on engine displacement and that will make for some hair-raising fees as well. I don't know if these engine/car models make for a good second car. Sounds very pricy to have in the garage.

It seems like if a boring company tries to create a crazy car with a special engine, they end up with a V10. Audi, Lexus, Dodge...
