Roland is legendary, too. Roland was a popular and iconic figure in medieval Europe and its minstrel culture. Many tales made him a nephew of Charlemagne and turned his life into an epic tale of the noble Christian killed by hostile forces, which forms part of the medieval Matter of France. The tale of Roland's death is retold in the 11th-century poem The Song of Roland, where he is equipped with the olifant (a signaling horn) and an unbreakable sword, enchanted by various Christian relics, named Durendal. The Song contains a highly romanticized account of the Battle of Roncevaux Pass and Roland's death, setting the tone for later fantastical depiction of Charlemagne's court. (source : Wikipedia)

Brites De Almeida, the portuguese heroine, didnt actually defeat an invading army, what happend was that at the end of the battle of Aljubarrota (Portugal) she found 7 Castillian soldiers hidding in her bakery and easily killed them with her baking shovel, afterwards she baked some bread along with the dead soldiers. She was a big woman with six fingers on each hand, and aparently her bread was the best in all of Portugal. Historians still argue to this day as to what was actually factual and what was actually legend in her heroic tale, to us she will always be a symbol of bravery and defiance against the crown of Castille.

OGUZ KHAGAN is not only a legend of uzbekistan is also a legend for Republic of Turkey people. He is a huge character for Turkic people. His other name known in history books is Mete Khan. He was the first leader of Turks and the creator of firs Turkic state Hunnic Empire. He is known so common that even the military system of current Turkey is made like the system of Oguz Khagan. Throughout years Turkic empires , states , or countries followed this systeme and his war tacticts (Turan=~touran¹). When Ottoman Empire won the Battle in Mohac against crusaders The Magnificent Suleiman used this tactic. Same for Alparslan when he beated Roman Dyojen to enter in Anatolia he defeated Byzhantian army with this tactic.

3 other candidates for Ireland would be Finn Mac Cumhaill-head of the legendary war band called the Fianna, who gained all the wisdom in the world by sucking his finger, Niall Noígíallach (Niall of the Nine Hostages)-the semi-legendary first high king of Ireland and the ancestor of one in 12 Irishmen, and Brian Boruma na Cennetig (Brian Boru)-the real life high king of Ireland who ended Viking supremacy on the island.

For Thor, instead of putting the flag of Sweden, you could've put the Norse flag, also called the Viking flag. But I understand that it is not an official flag so yeah. Also, for those who are confused, in short form, vikings lived during 8-11th century. At that time, of course, the Nordic countries were not split up. It was one big land called Scandinavia. So, if someone asks where vikings originate from, do not say Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark or Iceland, say Scandinavia. Keep up the great videos, Nerd Robot. I always enjoy watching :)

@boreaszephyr70292 жыл бұрын
@kagaminegilda58572 жыл бұрын

From Chile is Lautaro, the mapudungun Hero from original towns It has to be on the second part.
@perro_espia2 жыл бұрын
(in english-en inglés) I don't think lautaro is a representative of chile because in this video it is based more on fictitious characters and not on historical; I don't know which character it could be but I imagine that the most similar to the characters in this video would be pedro urdemales for representing the picarón who could trick the devil and other stories (if anyone has more characters for chile please comment).
