well we are aligned to the traveler, the thing that brought them up only to leave them and see them fall. We'd have to abandon the traveler if we want to be allies with the fallen. Even then most of them are savages now. They care not for making allies and are surely driven by hatred towards the light

Variks reminds me alot of The Arbiter from Halo, the convenant are our main enemies and having Arbiter as an ally just felt really awesome. Variks is a fallen, one of our enemies, if Variks were to bring the House of Judgement back together (assuming there are still members out there) having AI allies fight beside us in Destiny 2 would be probably one of the best things ever.

That is up to bungie, maybe a devil will learn how to wield siva again, perhaps farther down the line while the fallen seem to have been dealt with, bit that would be disappointing. That didn't happen. Rasputin didn't shoot the traveler. The traveler had simply decided to stay. He used all of his might to fend off the darkness attacking the system, succeeding in only securing some of earth, and creating the ghosts in his last breaths.

We've killed the devil's Archon, Prime, and every one knows what Saint-14 did to their kell. We've killed the House of Winter's leadership. Exile lost a baron to us, and we don't know if they even have a kell or Archon... or Prime for that matter. The Kings helped orchestrate Twilight Gap. And the Wolves probably hate us the most now, Skolas said it well enough. I'm paraphrasing here, "the city of docking and death, they send out their ghouls to murder us, kill our primes, leave our children gasping for ether. Curse that city, and all within." There's no immediate peace treaties.

Alright then, so if Chelchis (as in Doom of Chelchis the Raid Scout Rifle) was once a legend to the fallen what of the other weapons from the Raid? Maybe the raid weapons all reference various champions that Oryx's hoard have slain over millions of years that they've existed. Think about it, Silence of A'Arn. A'Arn is a Cabal name if Ta'aruk Ma'aul and the other Valus' and Primus are any indicator. So what of Elulim and Qullim? Who were they? Yasmin? Dystran? Zaouli? Merrain? Awoken maybe? This just got me interested in digging into this. Thanks Byf.

the other weapons are all people races that fell before oryx and the darkness. the stories and the races are sometimes loosely referred to in the Book of Sorrows if you read through the entire thing and understand it the first time (took me like 4 or 5) these races come up here and there in the book. the descriptions of the weapons and the names allude to whivh race is which

You know, Oryx actually feared Skolas and the Fallen over anything else. He saw the rest as nuisances, but was scared of the Fallen, genuinely. This was because he had created something so dark, so evil during the whirlwind, but hadn't intended it. They were not taken, nor defeated. Yet so dark. And Oryx had done this himself.

I wish they would just rebuild destiny to be a single player STORY focused game, all of the lore is so cool, the story is already there. Imagine if it was on the scale of No mans sky but limited to our solar system, with ships we could actually fly to and from the different planets? More time to develop characters like Shaxx, the vanguard three and the speaker, maybe some interaction or alliances major characters in the fallen or cabal. Destiny has the potential to rival Mass effect or halo in terms of story but they would need to start over, it's far too late to transform what we have now.

what I don't understand is how this game labels every enemy as the darkness. When the hive and taken seem like the only darkness in this game.The rest dont seem connected with darkness at all just a crazy machine race and an alien empire.

the only enemies that should be in the game are the fallen and the hive, the vex and the cabal are just pointless the game would be 10 times better if it focused on the main enemies instead of adding useless races

From what I've seen in the story we could pretty much just ally with the cabal, they got beef with the hive and the vex. This AI is so stupid they'll stop attacking a group of their enemies just to go after me one fucking person lol

So the fallen were once a peaceful race but the traveller we see as a god left them to suffer making them bitter and vengeful. The more I here about the traveller the more I despise its complex but it's the lesser of two evils but not as much as we think. Is the traveler really light or is its core full of hate and darkness. Destiny is truly an interesting game and the lore is so rich I hope the next chapter elaborates on the lore we know. Go fourth guardians forge your on path but be wary the path you take may lead to true darkness.

If you read some grimoire entries it's clear the Traveler is benevolent, but it is somewhat of a coward. It bestows knowledge, power, and golden ages onto sentient species throughout the universe, but it's also trying to create an army to protect it from the Darkness. When it becomes clear that its chosen Guardians will fall to the Darkness, it abandons them for a new host species. Maybe the Traveler has decided to make its last stand in Sol, or maybe it's too injured to run away again.

What the fallen once where they are no more , they showed us that even the most proud of people can change into one that spreads only blood on its path in what they call the reclaming of their former glory. For the traveler once abandoned one race, one people and even so they still seek its guidance no matter the cost.Thank you Byf for your lores that make me love this game and its history more and more each time ! Aiden A perhaps, but in the face of darkness, the traveler created the guardians. Therefore, i believe our fate will differ, we killed oryx, his son, we have plundered the vault of glass, and we have cleansed the plaugelands of aksis and his archpriest. I believe the traveler was running for too long and chose to face the darkness, create the ghosts, and go silent.
