As a retired disc jockey I know voice talent when I hear it. Your dignified demeanor and delivery are impeccable and background music is spot on . As I lay in bed fighting cancer Your stories are the best way to deal with pain I've ever found. Thanks again Chris.

Until Kevin Costner made his movie I was unaware that it was Frank Hamer (in company with others) that bought Bonnie & Clyde to justice. The Warren Beatty movie made Frank Hamer out to be a bumbling fool and at the time I didn't realise Frank was actually a real person. What an amazing character and certainly one that we all should know more about. Good job and I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the series.

Party lines were still common in the 50s. I remember many of our neighbors had them. My dad insisted he had to have a private line for his business and we got one.

Hello @LegendsoftheOldWestPodcast, you forgot to mention Hammer's treatment of J.T. Canales, harassing him and threatening him for bringing attention to the Texas Rangers racist indiscriminate killings of Mexican Americans. I suppose Mexican Americans still lack the respect of America overall, that all of this was a convinient foot note at the end of this series on Hammer. Perhaps next time you should consider putting all this scuzz did in next time.
