My great,X3 uncle. I love watching these videos. I wish I could have met him. But reading some of his diaries & playing the same piano he did, is really amazing.

Boonslick was actually named after Daniel's sons Daniel Morgan and Nathan who had a salt refinery in the area. The town was located at the end of the first road in what would become Missouri. It started in St Charles. Boonslick was really the town that opened up the American West.

I used to be able to listen to this as I was going to sleep. It was perfect. I’d listen to the same story dozens of times but now with ads embedded in the the video i can’t do it.

I know that feeling. There was this Mars Volta (full) album I would fall asleep to every night a few years ago and then they hit it with the ads, then eventually instead of the full album in one video it got broken down into each song being it’s own video. I ended up getting Apple Music and can now fall asleep to TMV whenever I want.

His name is still reviled to the Navajos to this very day, the reason that I know this is I have ask members of the Navajo Nation how they felt about Kit Carson..

Just been watching an interesting KZbin video about children who believed they were reincarnated from the lives of previous people. One of them, significantly, is a 5 years old boy who described himself as Kit Carson in a past life.😢

It’s a little more complex with the Indians. There were many different apaches (bands). while this band might be peaceful the band 100 miles north could be straight savages.
