Chris, I absolutely love this series. But I keep hearing fingernails on the blackboard. It's not John McKay, it's John Mackay, rhymes with tacky. But other than that, it's another awesome video!

yeup. Went to UNR and I was told early on it's "MACKY" stadium, NOT Mc-kay stadium. lol I was like but it looks like it says mckay... nope

I'm a Washoe Club member lol its sounds so silly, but last year I went to a Haunted tour on Halloween and only by the glow of a cell phone. It was intense and secures my membership lol

You are confused as to the tolerance of races in pre Statehood Nevada. Lincoln created the State of Nevada for a couple of reasons: he had bankrupted the country with the Civil War and needed the Comstock Lode money to get the country out of debt. And two, he was probably going to lose his second term election due to a lack of electoral votes and the popularity of one of his notorious loser generals McClellan. So despite lacking a sufficient population for statehood, Lincoln forced Nevada into Statehood just as he had earlier divided Virginia into two states, and as one of those two states was entirely under the control of his troops, the votes were certain to go his way. Bing bang salazam - four electoral votes that hadn't even existed in his first Presidential run. Lincoln was racist scum and could have cared less if Nevadans (Washoe as it was then known) were pro or anti slavery. . Regardless, Nevada became a State because of Lincoln's greed. Not from some philosophical feelings on his regard or disregard for the black race. Also, the 'shooting gallery's is generally accepted as the place one would go to smoke opium and had nothing to do with target practice.
