I think this is for the best: Legends naturally has a rotating cast, so everyone has to go eventually, and Zari Tomaz has had lots of character development/growth. Since she finally managed to achieve her biggest goal since the episode she joined, I'd say this is a good time for her to leave. The Tarazis have lots of character development/growth, relationships and plots ahead of them (hopefully). I guess it's kind of like the Amaya situation- when Amaya's story was finished and her character's primary goals were complete, she left, and she was replaced by a doppelgänger who could go through an entirely different journey (that has, unfortunately, ended as well). It's sad to see Zari go, but I think this is still a good resolution to the timeline arc and her whole story. Though those dynamics between Behrad, Zari and New Zari were the best :(

The thing all the critics of Legends miss is that despite the ludicrous nature of the show, the character drama is the most compelling and realistic in the arrowverse. You just have to pay attention and recognize that part of the nature of the Legends is that they get to embrace parts of life the other heroes don’t. They form an accepting family that none of the other heroes has to the same level and that gives them the room to have a little more fun. Also, I’ve seen people complain it’s no longer a DC comics show, but if you want to complain about main characters not being from the comics let’s talk about Diggle and Joe West, two of the most beloved characters in the arrowverse and both created for the shows. Sure, Legends is not like the other shows, but it really embraces the ridiculousness of comic book mythology in a way the others don’t. There’s so much to love about Legends, it’s sad people let a few aspects of how the show chooses to spin its narrative detract from that.

Gotta say, Nate has gone through the most pain in this show. I don’t know how he kept it together. From losing Grandpa, dad, two girlfriends, twice and having them both come back as other people both times and then getting one back and losing her again to then again lose your best friend, all the while staying strong and happy through it all. Commendable.
