As a New Orleans resident and native, I’ve heard the legends of the Casket Girls. This city has been called the most paranormal place in the world. We’ve got vampires, ghosts, demons, cryptids (Rougarou and the Honey Island Swamp Monster are the most famous) voodoo queens, and even the Devil himself is said to have had his own house in the Garden District uptown. A quirky little tradition is to list a house as haunted or not haunted by the real estate agents. You can see the signs on the front of the houses that say “Haunted”. We all have a very special and unique home here in The Big Easy. Oh. And FYI. The street is pronounced “char-ters” where the Ursuline convent still stands today
