The BC master is from a 6A4a that Mr Schilke made for Bill Chase in 1973...Bill had about 3-4 and the one copy I have and use I had both Derek & Schilke copy to make ava to the public...FINALLY!!! It's about as far removed from a stock 6A4a as Mercury is from Pluto....Laskey "tried" to make copies but never got to see the actual Chase design Mr. Schilke had made

It's long been known that the Schilke "Bill Chase Artist model" was not the piece that Bill used. When I spoke to Bill in '72, I got the impression that he was using a #22 to "24 throat. The first mouthpiece tended to pull your first ledger line A natural sharp.

Thanks for comparing pieces. Can I ask what book you're playing from?

Hey buddy, I can definitely see the difference, especially with the "slap" on the master. I also can tell the diameter is a little bigger too.

The BC Master looks like it has a smaller throat.

I NEVER liked the Schilke rim. It was too rounded for me.

The BC master is a copy of Bill’s original rim and cup. It has a high alpha in the center. It plays totally different than anything I have played.
