THE SUBSTRATE
Prepping the surface of the countertops is easy. Most surfaces just need to be sanded (80-100 Grit) then wiped clean. Granite and Marble will need the sealer removed. Tile will need the grout lines filled with Bondo and sanded smooth before applying our Countertop Kits.
How To Plastic Off A Kitchen Prior To Install : • How To Plastic Off You...
How To Prep Countertops: • How To Prep Countertop...
EPOXY PRIMER COAT
Priming the Countertops is simple and fast. Mix your pre-measured primer then dip and roll the pigmented primer across the surface until the countertop surface is completely covered. Wait 1 hr. (or until tacky and not coming off to the touch) and start applying the Base Coat.
METALLIC EPOXY COAT
There are so many different applications for our metallic epoxy coat. In this video, we show you the dirty pour technique. When you place your order you'll receive step by step tutorial videos that will show you how to apply this part depending on the look you're going for!
HIGH WEAR TOP COAT
We offer 2 different Performance Engineered Top Coats. Glaze Coat is our High Build Top Coat that lays out like glass and adds depth to the Countertop. The Urethane Top Coat comes with the option to have a High Gloss or Matte finish. It needs to be rolled out super thin and leaves a minor texture on the countertop. You apply it within 24 hrs. of installing your Countertop Kit
How To Apply WB Urethane Top Coat: • Learn How To Mix & App...
Leggari Countertop Kits were designed to transform your countertop, tabletop, or desktop into something new and beautiful by coating your existing countertop or pre-built wood countertop. They can be installed in 3 to 5 hrs. including the prep work, and will last for decades. If you can paint your countertops, you’re more than qualified to install a Leggari Countertop Kit. Our Countertop system is leading the resin industry for thickness, durability, and scratch resistance with our High Wear Top Coats.
Our Countertop Epoxy is specifically designed for counters and can be applied to any hard surface. It’s 100% Pure Solids using the finest raw materials that include proprietary additives for working time, thickness, flow and marbleization that are vital when achieving our Dynamic Effects. Our Countertop Epoxy is also a decorative, durable and chemically resistant coating, available with a High Gloss or Matte finish.

Instead we spent $12,000.00 on crappy linoleum and countertops. He has since moved in with his girlfriend and my son moved into his own place. I can do what in hell I want.

I do decorative concrete and get calls to do these all the time. Just know if you don’t have any knowledge it’s very easy to screw up. You could save a decent amount of money doing it yourself, but if you’re going to I strongly advise you to do your research. I could help point you in the right direction if you wanted I just don’t know exactly what you’re looking to do

What a beautiful outcome. Some suggestions for future videos: Explain a bit about what the actual materials are…not a science class for college kids but a basic quick intro telling what expoxy is, what steps you’ll be taking and what timespan the project takes, start to finish. You showed the pigments and the can of spray paint but I wondered why you’d be spraying your work. A quick word on prep beyond the obvious masking: anything special to use? Priming was interesting to watch, but pointing out tips for a thin even coat would help newbies. Same with the masking tape: any special tips to get it on so nicely? Great explanation/demo on how to pour Spritzing with the alcohol: whys and wherefores Great demo on reducing surface tension and cleaning up Sealing mentioned but not explained And personally--I hate the background music a lot of people used New subscriber and fan

Look, I spelled for 6 years at a bar, where we had polycryliced and epoxyed the tables and bar, to look like old western vibe. If cured properly, and dbl up on glossy clear coats and you can serve HOT FOOD, and anything else. Hell ours where hard enough to chop up rock hard sugar candy trails on. Sorry but it really is a justifiable example of a much needed hard surface.... hope this helped

I like to pour my epoxy colors on to one another separately, not put them all together like that in the same bucket, then add clear into the voids, and my buckets have pour spouts on them. But your technique gives what I call a “Jupiter’s eye” effect, which is pretty cool. 😎

I made a live edge epoxy table and coated the entire thing in epoxy as well. It scratches very easily and you definitely don’t want to set anything hot on it. I can’t see how this is a good idea considering how often kitchen counters get used. I don’t think good epoxy yellows unless it’s in direct sunlight over a long period of time.

@benjaminb7544
@benjaminb7544 2 жыл бұрын
@@jmaqin I don’t think so. The yellowing is caused from bromine which is a flame retardant used in a lot of plastics. Something about the way it interacts with UV light causes the molecular structure to change and it turns yellow. I keep my desk away from direct sunlight as much as possible. That being said I’m not sure how deep the yellowing goes..Perhaps sanding the surface and pouring another layer of epoxy could fix it depending on how bad it is?
@benjaminb7544
@benjaminb7544 2 жыл бұрын
@@xiayu6098 that’s pretty much what I did with my live edge table - used deep pour epoxy to fill the live edge portions of the table and then used a coating resin over the deep pour. After about 1 year there are a fair amount of scratches but only visible if you’re really trying to find them. I plan on fine sanding the top again and refinishing it at some point in the future. Depending on the color I imagine scratched will appear more visibly.

How durable is the finish against common kitchen mishaps (hot pans / dropping pans / occasional careless knife or fork use against this surface instead of a cutting board)? Is the resin, once cured, safe to touch cold and warm food?

How did you manage so that the resin doesn't leak at the edges ? Did you use standard or special adhesive tape ? Does it have to be very sticky or did you have to press hard ? At the time you pour the resin, it's still liquid, and I'm afraid it can find a tiny way out between the edges and the tape.
@WhitefirePL
@WhitefirePL 10 ай бұрын
I don't have experience with this particular method, but generally if the taped surface is flat/shiny and the tape is wide, you can stop leaks almost with any kind of tape. Problems arise when the previous (side) surface is uneven / porous / badly scratched. For example, if you sand wood with 240 paper then you are good with a simple painting tape, but on raw bark no tape will work.

It kinda looked like wood when it was all scuffed up to get a good bond didn’t it!

@@pargolf3158 I believe they're just saying that they pour different designs on the same countertop over and over again. In other words, they'd done 27 different tutorials for different colors and then did this one. If you remove old tile and top with MDF, or start with Formica, you should be able to do this on it after the primer. Leggari, correct me if I'm mistaken please.
